Donald Trump: G6+1

I have tried to be supportive of our President. Even after he signed a CSR allowing toxic mining waste to be dumped into clean waterways. And appointed Exxon executive Scott Pruitt as head of the EPA, effectively setting the fox on the henhouse. And advocated the cut of SNAP benefits to children, the disabled, and the elderly. But really, enough is enough.

Trump's words and actions at the G7 conference in Quebec were nothing short of appalling. As David Leonhardt put it, "If a President of the United States were to sketch out a secret detailed plan to break up the Atlantic alliance, that plan would bear a striking resemblance to Trump's behavior". Oh, and he wants Russia included to make it G8.

Trump's allies quickly came to his defense, of course, and make the argument that Trump is the avenging angel for America's workers, standing up for their interests and braving ridicule in the process. As one Republican (whose name I have not yet ascertained) put it, "the media is having a breathless panic attack" as Trump"advocates for the American worker instead of wining, dining and cozying up to other world leaders."

I'm not going to post the link because I'm not interested in going blind trying to do so. It's from today's Washington Post blog called the Plum Line.

What say you?

I say Trump is the boss and he's proving it.

The leaders of France, Germany, The United Kingdom and Canada are l***hes and losers.

We should follow up Trump's actions by immediately removing our troops from Germany.

It's time they pull up their panties and walk alone.

We need those troops on our southern border.

Trump is a winner.

And Europe has now been Trumped.

Trump was trumping Europe long before he became President. So far France is the only one playing along, Germany and the UK Germany has the most to lose with 34,000 plus. Good step is bring 50% home and station them near the boarder.

You are aware, of course, that the U.S. tariffs are the same as the G7 tariffs? They're NOT fleecing us!

What say I ? I say bravo President Trump. As usual when I run my great big mouth on OPP I have something to back it up. Namely the reopening of a US Steel plant in Granite City, Illinois. Considering that Illinois is mostly run by scumbag Democrats I consider this to be a non partisan crossing of the aisle by my President Donald Jobs. Trump. This article announcing the reopening is from March, but today on CNBC they had a segment on the reopening at the plant with the head of US Steel. 500 workers will ultimately be earning big paychecks thanks to the fact that finally we have President who is standing up not only to China, but to our false friends.

And this supposed retaliation by Canada and Europe, well the stock market is responding with a yawn and going higher. The stock market is always ready to drop when anyone rattles their sabers about a trade war, and yet these cowards are bravely pushing the market up. Somebody knows more than the media is telling us mushrooms.

Instead of throwing BS party politics, why can't you admit that this plant reopening was a bipartisan effort?

The moron at his best

Canada is the US's largest trade partner, with $673.9 billion worth of goods and services going between the two countries in 2017. Also, contrary to Trump's attacks, the US maintained a $8.4 billion trade surplus with Canada last year, mostly due to a large advantage in services.

Okay, I will bite. WTF did the Democrats have to do with a plant closing on Obama's watch and then reopening on Trump's watch other than the closing ?

What exactly were those services ? Maybe they were services provided by Rich Guy Banks and Rich Guy Wall Street and Rich Guy Lawyer Firms which benefit Rich Guy guys, whereas a steel mill reopening in Illinois will benefit the blue collar working man. You remember that guy and girl doncha ? Your party, the jackasses wrote them off, like they wrote off the West Virginia Coal Miners. I am quite prepared to be wrong.

Now you tell me who are these " services " working men and women that our good buddies in Canada want to screw over to get back at my boy Trump ?

If it weren't for Trump allies, Trump wouldn't know why he does the impulsive s**t he does. Any other President, regardless of party, would be required to explain himself...........but everyone knows Trump cannot do that, so his allies do it for him. The longest conversation Trump ever had with a blue collar worker, was to say " you missed a spot", which means he doesn't have a clue about what American workers need.

I still haven't gotten a cogent answer from the Trumpites about how they think America became, and maintained, the status of the largest economy in the world AND the richest Nation in the world, if every other Nation on the planet treated America so unfairly for decades as Trump proclaims. Presidents don't do any trading ( at least, they didn't before Trump Industries became President ), so past P**********l policy has had little effect on global trade, because traders do trades, make deals, and the like. Besides, anyone who stiffs subcontractors and gets bailed out by the American tax payer many times..................wouldn't know "fair" if it climbed up his butt.

There was no mention made of when the plant closed.
