How many Americans do they really represent?

I was wondering how many Americans are on the far left and how many on the far right, and found my research results surprising. The first thing I noticed was a marked difference between the numbers tabulated from online sources, compared to those collected in real time from real live people. I learned a long time ago to be highly skeptical of stated percentages, as they vary wildly, and are blatantly manipulated.

The basic result of my research is this; the most vocal, visible and active extremes on the political spectrum, represent a small fraction of the population. If this is true, how is that they dominate political discourse and influence policy far beyond what their numbers should be able to? This is where things get interesting - and alarming.

Harding University proudly and publicly makes it clear that they are a religious, conservative, Republican entity. They openly discriminate against potential employees that are not Church of Christ, blatantly state that no liberal speakers have, or will ever, set foot on their campus and, as part of the student orientation, make this statement "No one can be a Democrat AND a Christian". This has been the practice for as long as I can remember. Here's the interesting part; many employees are not religious, conservative or Republican - but keep it secret. I've talked to many students that are in the same situation. They keep this secret, because they know they'll be fired or expelled if found out.

How can such practices exist in America today? The simple answer is - money. Harding University and Church of Christ which sponsors it, bring many, many millions into the local economy, raise many millions more for political operations, and who's members control a good chunk of, well, everything. School boards, Quorum court, city council, State representatives, board of directors for every non profit and many more positions, are filled with members of Church of Christ.

These people are a tiny minority in the County, yet run everything - thus intimidating any one who opposes them. With municipal and district judges under their control, they need not fear law suits, or criminal investigation. See how this works? When a majority of people fail to oppose a vocal, vicious and relentless minority, they soon find themselves ens***ed by these few people, and cannot get free without a lot of pain and sacrifice.

The far left and far right represent the viewpoints of a tiny minority, yet they represent everyone politically - because we're afraid of them.

I suppose that the same could be said for the Mormons in Salt Lake City Utah right. And then there is California where being conservative could get you shot and the same for Chicago IL and New York NY. It is not all just Christians that are to blame the left has its strong holds as well.

Funny you would use an obscure college to make that point when our "news" services and media ate heavily populated by the far left. I hear these people talking about programs and wonder if anyone really wants what they're promoting...

Very true. I'm more afraid of the left. The right mostly stays to themselves. The left is "offended" and let's everyone know it if there is disagreement on any talking points.

Same could be said of the l***q and muslims, miniscule % of population but always pushing their agenda to the PC culture.

I don't know, apathy suggests that they have no opinion or viewpoint but I believe they do, they're just leery of voicing anything for fear of reprisal - from friends, family, employer, being targeted by police, etc.

Little by little the web that has too much influence over us will become unraveled.
I think we all can take heart with the idea that each of our voices can add to that unraveling.
Logic & reason can prevail.

The point is that there is no front page news about all of the groups & foundations that carry out much the same agenda.
To the conservatives it is the basic fabric of our system.
There is much good to be said about the individual people involved.

But these groups add to the lack of t***sparency of what is truly going on in the division we face between Left & Right, Political beliefs.
The belief is that we (Conservatives) are good & any one that thinks different is bad.
(The heart of the division being pushed to divide & to keep people divided.)

I do agree that the divides are harmful to our country. Always have been. Both when things were too conservative in the 50s and 60s and then things started to open up in the 70s and 80s. Then the 90s brought the advent of political correctness and the left just started to go farther and farther left over the next 25 years with the Obama years being the most out of touch culturally with what the average person wanted for themselves and their families. I hope that we as Americans can find a balance and so many that are here can learn not to h**e our country.
