MSNBC Co-Host Rails on Harry Reid’s ‘Koch Addiction’, Calls Reid a Liar More Than 12 Times

Friday’s edition of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” opened with an unusual segment. It was 12 minutes of an unfiltered discussion of Harry Reid’s almost-daily attacks on the Koch Brothers.

In the course of the segment, Senate Majority Leader was called a “liar,” said to be “lying about” or spreading “lies” about the Koch brothers more than a dozen times — and that was just by host Joe Scarborough. At the 1:28 mark of the clip, Joe began his rant about Reid by declaring, “It’s embarrassing.”

At the 1:40 mark, Scarborough stated it was his opinion that what Reid was doing was “beneath the dignity of the office he’s holding.”

Joe went on to rack up the aforementioned dozen plus uses of the words liar, lies and lying while referring to Senator Reid’s treatment of the Kochs.

Co-host Mika Brzezinski, and in-studio panelists Jim Vandehei of Politico, and “Morning Joe” regulars Willie Geist, and Katty Kay were silent for much of the segment, speaking only when called upon to join the uncomfortable conversation.

At the 7:00 point of the clip, Joe actually referred to the leader of the U.S. Senate by saying, “He’s like one of those cheap, dirty, political consultants you stay away from because they would embarrass you.”

Not a voice was raised to object to Scarborough’s argument.

The usually unapologetic Democratic supporter, Mika Brzezinski said nothing for most of the segment. In fact, it was 10 minutes into the clip before Mika finally shared her feelings on Reid’s relentless attack on the Koch brothers by saying, “I cringed watching it,” and then criticizing his comments’ “destructive tone.”

The entire segment is presented here via MSNBC:

Aw, poor Charles Koch. He wants everyone to know he's being persecuted by mean "collectivists" around the country for being a really good guy, so he ran to the Wall Street Journal and put an op-ed out so we could all know what evil Alinsky-ites we are and how he's really, really the good guy who is fighting to restore a free society.

His first mistake was expecting those he's aiming his message at to actually read or pay attention to the Wall Street Journal. If he really cared about his message, he'd go live on the Rachel Maddow show. But let's hear him out anyway. I'll quote his complaint and respond below.

I have dev**ed most of my life to understanding the principles that enable people to improve their lives. It is those principles—the principles of a free society—that have shaped my life, my family, our company and America itself.

Principles laid out by none other than the John Birch Society. You forgot to note that part. Your father was a founder, and you were steeped in their principles from a very young age. Call it wh**ever you want, but these vaunted principles were spawned in the living rooms of fearful white folks across the country, led by Jack Robert Welch.

"Unfortunately, the fundamental concepts of dignity, respect, e******y before the law and personal freedom are under attack by the nation's own government. That's why, if we want to restore a free society and create greater well-being and opportunity for all Americans, we have no choice but to fight for those principles. I have been doing so for more than 50 years, primarily through educational efforts. It was only in the past decade that I realized the need to also engage in the political process."

What dignity, respect and e******y are you referring to, White Rich Man? The dignity of being turned away at the doctor's office for lack of health insurance? The respect given by a government who thinks it's perfectly fine for people to die in the street, or to starve children rather than give food stamps? The e******y of suppressing some people's v**es in order to make sure your 'principles' are the ones that win? The liberty to work for a wage below the living standard?

Or would it be the dignity, respect and e******y granted to us by your Almighty Markets, gamed by Those Who Have to make sure more of us are Have Nots?

Or perhaps it's the dignity, respect and e******y granted to our first African-American president, who you seem to think should walk around with a target painted on his back and spitballs lobbed at him at every turn?

If that's dignity, e******y and respect, I'll take the alternative.

It goes back to the proverbial "stopped watch getting it right once a day," (although in a twenty four hour day, it would be twice a day).

Come Monday morning, all will be forgotten, and the liberal brainwashing will commence right on schedule.

That's the way they normally work. But at least they used the word lying on the air in reference to Harry Reid. Now the next question is does the left even recognize lying as something bad or something good and to be desired. In which case this label as a liar has no weight.

Joe Scarborough is one of the biggest, phoniest shills for the GOP ever. Ideological and irrational to the umpteenth degree, good ole Joe is a disgrace to every decent American, but, what the heck -- his lies and misstatements and BS works...for some. My dog is more decent than Loco Joe.

Charles Koch wants only what's good. He has " dev**ed most of [his] life to understanding the principles that enable people to improve their lives, like spending untold millions on lobbyists and political campaigns to buy legislators who will change the laws so that taxpayers, not his companies, will pay for all the pollution and environmental damage that he and his companies have caused. Yes, he wants what's good -- good for HIMSELF -- everybody else be damned. What a nice "Christian" man! May he suffer MUCH before he leaves this life!

Soros isn't trying to shape the government, eliminate the government or to take over what's left after he destroys as much as he can.
