I have both talked and listened to Everyone, both right and left, maybe an extremist or two: I don't know however when expressing what I feel I've met little if any resistance.such as below.

“I don’t agree with what he’s doing to degrade what it means to be an American“Not only do I want an administration that isn’t venal, corrupt and focused on making life harder for millions of Americans, I also want a competent administration,“to for me, the larger question is the collision of cruelty and incompetence and corruption that we see across the administration.”

“Not just the hundreds but now thousands of instances in schools across America, where children are citing the president ''don't be afraid to go to school'', or they’re chanting ‘Build a wall’ So the reason, now, I have to ignore it when people say h**eful things to me or on social media is, I think we have to shine a light. I think those of us who have platforms to do that have to say this is wrong and unacceptable, so we don’t normalize it but try to detoxify what has been unleashed. Because if we don’t, we leave a vacuum. And I think the darkness fills that vacuum.
It seems all but a common metaphor of the Trump administration as a cloud of darkness slowly obliterating the bright light of America’s better qualities is an accurate portrayal of what has happened since the president’s inauguration, although the pace of the smothering of the light may be quicker than any of us realize
I think one of the big mistakes, “was, for so long, we focused on tolerance, which I just think is insufficient. People tolerated casual misogyny, but casual misogyny is maybe the gateway drug. We have freedom of speech, which I do think is hugely important – and yet people thought you couldn’t dispute h**eful things, because they’re like – well, it’s freedom of speech. Well, freedom of speech doesn’t mean there is freedom of consequences.
“Sure, you should not be in prison because you said something r****t. But you also shouldn’t be able to run for president. And yet here we are.”
personally absolutely nothing has improved as with many I have talked with?I have not had
conversation with the well to do yet, just common working folks.

I do not expect thoughts above to have any impact one way or the other.
after all it is what it is.

There are always two sides to every issue (sometimes more than two), and most people aren't amenable to being persuaded to change their minds. Being a democracy isn't easy and never has been. If nothing else, America is an example of how hard it is to get enough people to agree on something, make it part of the fabric of our society and make it stick.

There are those who would like to return black people to s***ery, or at least bring back Jim Crow laws, and being a representative democratic republic, if enough think this way and can find politicians to endorse such views - it could very well happen. How is it that prevailing public sentiment is rarely reflected in the laws and/or policies that are enacted? Simply put - because not enough people engage in the political process. The fact that we have sitting politicians that are anathema to our way of life, is a direct result of too few making the decisions on who is elected. In 2016, barely 1/3 of eligible v**ers v**ed. That means that 1*6 of Americans put Trump in office. I blame the 2/3 that sat back and let it happen.

My observations are noted in my post if you read the opening line and the rest of it.
my thoughts are my own so from what I've heard and seen the race card has just been misused
many times by many people.since I'm not into r****m in any way, shape or form it Matters little to me at least how vermon think or why. I do know for a fact our country is divided as never before in history, something anyone from any or No party should agree on in my humble opinion.besides according to sources there are bigger issues coming down the pike. I have to check sources outside the U.S. to get a better idea of what's really going on and that is wrong having to count on what the rest of the world seems to know but us citizens don't? as they say in China " sum tings wong "
w***e s*******y and the aryan nation( brown shirts)come to mind, having been approached by both in younger years.why? I suspect
having blonde hair and blue eyes had something to do with it,then to add one or the other saying it represented
The Trump aryan nation.something that will not be forgotten or forgiven anytime soon. never heard the name until then
except from those in New Jersey with first hand knowledge ,none of which is pretty. some was recently posted so please don't ask.

perhaps the saddest thing going on,also my opinion is that there truly is nobody I can think of that would be a True leader in every sense of the word
a leader breeds success not virol h**e and division, even my own family is at odds, unfortunately being the head of it
I don't,won't and can't take sides. oh and guess who is going to pay for his wall and tax s**m?
over 1.5 trillion from programs they're looking to cut.aka Paul Ryan's dream.

I agree about v**er turnout( since when does a minority put someone in the White House?) along with lifetime sitting politicians,as to the rest I can concur that bringing us back into the past is an awful idea.as far as I know no one is trying to change anyone's mind.like the idea of fabric making also.

h**e to disappoint you but I don't do h**e! it's counterproductive in every way.
I deal with the here and now and accept it. I don't have to like it but hating anyone is definitely not the answer.
there is enough h**e on this board alone to go around thankyouverymuch.

F**e news coming from this post. Ovommit obliterated goodness and morally in this country for 8 miserable years and you l*****t derelects were amazingly silent. You let him run all over our Constitution and we didn't hear a peep from you snakes. Now you want to talk sh-t and how bad things are. Things might be bad because your side can not accept the fact that leftism was Trumped by Conservatism and Americanism. Get a life. Maybe go to Mexico or Venezuela and spout your l*****t bs.

The cure is sending untactful to Cuba to wallow in C*******m and their disrespect for freedom of speech which he enjoys here. His dim eyes might be opened as to how great he has it now!!

Hold the phone! How can expressing one's thoughts be f**e or even news?
And where did you or anyone conclude
It or me especially are Left?
Obviously you folks cannot read my avatar... it reads I have just about had it with you two,it is why it was chosen
Since that best represents where I do stand! While I do agree the country was
Notoriously and nearly wrecked for eight years. To me your post or accusations make no sense.
Note to self: do not ever say/ post or express yourself on OPP..
That's sad when someone can't put down thoughts because there is always someone who reads things into it that are not there.have a nice day.
