NASA data show that global temperatures dropped sharply over the past two years. Not that you'd know it, since that wasn't deemed news. Does that make NASA a g****l w*****g denier?

Writing in Real Clear Markets, Aaron Brown looked at the official NASA global temperature data and noticed something surprising. From February 2016 to February 2018, "global average temperatures dropped by 0.56 degrees Celsius." That, he notes, is the biggest two-year drop in the past century.

"The 2016-2018 Big Chill," he writes, "was composed of two Little Chills, the biggest five month drop ever (February to June 2016) and the fourth biggest (February to June 2017). A similar event from February to June 2018 would bring global average temperatures below the 1980s average."

Isn't this just the sort of man-bites-dog story that the mainstream media always says is newsworthy?

In this case, it didn't warrant any news coverage.

In fact, in the three weeks since Real Clear Markets ran Brown's story, no other news outlet picked up on it. They did, however, find time to report on such things as tourism's impact on c*****e c****e, how g****l w*****g will generate more hurricanes this year, and threaten fish habitats, and make islands uninhabitable. They wrote about a UN official saying that "our window of time for addressing c*****e c****e is closing very quickly."

Reporters even found time to cover a group that says they want to carve President Trump's face into a glacier to prove c*****e c****e "is happening."

In other words, the mainstream news covered stories that repeated what c*****e c****e advocates have been saying ad nauseam for decades.

Snip<<NASA's GISS has released their March 2018 global land/ocean surface temperature departure data. According to GISS, March 2018 was the sixth warmest March on record going back to 1880.

March 2018 averaged 0.89 of a degree Celsius above the 1951-1980 mean, which also makes this the 36th consecutive March that has averaged above normal. The warmest March on record occurred in 2016.

Breaking it down further, March 2018 was the fourth warmest on record for the Northern Hemisphere, averaging 1.16 degrees Fahrenheit above normal.

March 2018 was also the fifth warmest March on record for the Southern Hemisphere with a temperature departure of +0.62 of a degree Celsius.


Arctic sea ice situation

March sea ice extent for the Arctic region was the second lowest on record, coming behind March of 2017. The satellite measured sea ice extent record goes back to 1979.

I guess it comes down to is what NASA story you want to listen to. The most important is ice because the more it continues to melt the worst shape we are in...

R****d or not both land ice and sea ice is melting faster than it is being replaced. Now you are welcome to argue that g****l w*****g is a figment of NASA's imagination but you then need to explain why we are losing ice at the rate we are losing it. The bottom is the Mire glacier taken in 1941 and 2010. Not only is there a loss in the length but in the total volume and mass...

I didn't mention anything about the ocean level but it's the melting of land ice that will increase the oceans not the freezing or melting of sea ice...

So what? The Vikings used to farm Greenland. The great Lakes were carved out by the advancing and retreating of glaciers during the last Ice Age.

I do not deny that the earth's climate is changing. What I think is bulls**t the so many think it is caused by man and then those tasked with proving it have to LIE about it. They purposely changed historical temperatures to fit the phony climate models.

This is a bit confusing, you are accusing NASA of fudging their data and then you agree with what the data states. As for purposely changing data to fit their climate models--historically we didn't establish temperature stations for the purpose of giving a global ambient temperature. Since that is what we are trying to do now is your argument we should continue with the same mythology? What we can't deny is the results of c*****e c****e. A hundred years ago the lower forty eight had well over a hundred glaciers and today there are but a hand full. If you want to argue that's natural that's okay but what we've witnessed is just an increase of 1.5 degrees F since the preindustrial revolution and if we've seen such a dramatic change with such a small increase in temperature then what are we going to experience in the future when it doubles or triples thereby eliminating the ice packs and leaving nothing to reflect the suns heat back into space.

Oh, and one more thing, that 1.5 degrees has increased the oceans acidity by 30% so what will happen when we are looking at a 3 to 6 degree change--just one or two more degrees will destroy the mechanism that feeds the majority of the worlds population. But you are right, those naughty scientists were certainly very bad...
