How Trump’s EPA Is Moving to Undo Fracking Wastewater Protections

Are you pro or con on this action? Or, do you want American waterways to be seriously and dangerously polluted or not?

Here a small excerpt about the problem:
"Back in 2008, residents of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and surrounding areas received a notice in the mail advising them to drink bottled water instead of tap water—a move that U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) internal memos at the time described as "one of the largest failures in U.S. history to supply clean drinking water to the public."

"The culprit: wastewater from oil and gas drilling and coal mines. This included fracking wastewater that state officials had allowed to be dumped at local sewer plants—facilities incapable of removing the complex mix of chemicals, corrosive salts and radioactive materials from that kind of industrial waste before they piped the "treated" water back into Pennsylvania's rivers." Read the rest of the story here if you care about the safety of your family https://www.yahoo.com/news/m/7bf9e4ff-d8d0-3a2e-84ee-1514f1b8c2dc/ss_how-trump%E2%80%99s-epa-is-moving-to.html

Pruitt's EPA has much more of this to come--all to save Big Business and Trump's Swamp Things some money at the risk to the public's health. Another example, Pruitt undid many of the automotive regulations implemented by President Barack Obama that were intended to make cars more environmentally safe.

This is Trump World, Destroyer of our children's future:
33 rules have been overturned. Please read one carefully and see the devastating implications.

Flood building standards (this what made Houston so bad in the hurricane: ignoring flood building standards)
Proposed ban on a potentially harmful pesticide
Freeze on new coal leases on public lands
Methane reporting requirement
Anti-dumping rule for coal companies
Decision on Keystone XL pipeline
Decision on Dakota Access pipeline
Third-party settlement funds
Offshore drilling ban in the Atlantic and Arctic
Ban on seismic air gun testing in the Atlantic
Northern Bering Sea climate resilience plan
Royalty regulations for oil, gas and coal
Inclusion of greenhouse gas emissions in environmental reviews
Permit-issuing process for new infrastructure projects

Mine cleanup rule
Sewage treatment pollution regulations
Ban on use of lead ammunition on federal lands
Restrictions on fishing

What Obama did was for the good of most of us...not for his own good, which is what Trump is doing. You will see one day...then you will act like you never felt the way you do now and want the Democrats to clean up the huge mess AGAIN. We will be there and clean it up, because we actually do care about the American People and our future.

Right? I’ll bet you really have skin in the game. Most of Trumps rollbacks are because state regulations are already in place. Don’t get your panties in a wad. The army core of engineers have screwed up more freshwater ways and lakes than Trump ever will.

If there were any justice in the USA, all EPA regulations would be revoked and the EPA completely eliminated.

Private sector companies pay millions in fines, and clean up when they make messes, but the EPA can dump millions of gallons of toxic mine waste into pristine rivers without anyone even being reprimanded like they did with the Animas river in Colorado.

So you see nothing wrong with rolling back environmental protections that were hard fought wins?

No need for duplicate agencies regulating the same thing. Just gives more bureaucrats jobs in D.C.. No industry wants to pollute anymore if they can avoid it. Individuals and class action will destroy them. Ever see Erin Brockovich? No one enjoys the outdoors anymore than I do. I just don't think my area needs a bunch of Fed's. State does a damn good job of watching out for the state's people.

That's the BS the left is always pushing, but the fact is that the state and local governments can do the job of watching our environment better than the socialist federal government.

The EPA is a socialist power grab to give the federal government control of all land use, crop production, mineral rights, and water ways, down to and including occasional large mud puddles in farmers fields.

To hell with the EPA and their socialist regulations and excessive paperwork.

And after eliminating the EPA, eliminate the Department of Education. Reagan tried that and came close but didn't succeed. Betsy DeVos may however just be the ticket.

I believe Betsy DeVos will be outed as the criminal that she is. She is part of a family of extremists and it's just a matter of time.

State vs. Federal Responsibilities:
FICTION: We don’t need EPA, because the states can enforce environmental laws. U.S. Senator Dan Sullivan, a Republican from Alaska, said during the senate confirmation debate on Scott Pruitt on February 16: “The states are the primary protectors and implementers of our environmental protections laws. That’s in the law – that’s in the federal law.”

FACT: Pollution flows across state lines, and the federal Clean Air Act clearly states that EPA has a leadership role in establishing standards that the states must follow. “Federal financial assistance and leadership is essential for the development of cooperative Federal, State, regional, and local programs to prevent and control air pollution,” the law states. The federal Clean Air Act also specifies that EPA is in charge of enforcing the law and making sure the states follow it: “Except as otherwise expressly provided in this Act, the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency shall administer this Act,” the law states.
