Right-wing Conspiracy Nuts now mainstream Republicans: the fourth sign of a growing authoritarian state

Take wildly disparate events, knit them together with other incongruous elements into a whole garment of stream of consciousness schizophrenic logic with the paranoid needlepoint of fear and h**e and—tada!--you have today's Republican party. Er, sorry, and you have your basic conspiracy theory or T***her.

When you let the Far-Fringe Element influence or even dictate policy and action, that emerge from their fear and h**e merging seamlessly into d******e-fueled and convoluted fantasies of persecution or oppression, reality is abandoned for the darker side in each of us. A sort of martial-law-mentality develops. Drastic action is needed. Social decorum, mores, and even laws are obstacles to needed order and control. Something like that happened in Texas back in 2015.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott ordered the Texas State Guard to 'monitor' a U.S. Army training exercise—Operation Jade Helm—that some Texas residents fear is a run-up to the Obama administration declaring martial law in the Lone Star state.

Operation Jade Helm 15 is actually a government plot to establish martial law in Texas. The military training exercise known as Jade Helm 15 has caused much paranoia and outright anger in the minds of conspiracy theorists. The U.S. military executed these exercises in Bastrop County, and its citizens didn't take very well to that. Many of them believed this was a sign of a military takeover in Texas, and also the end of gun ownership. This exercise caused such a panic that the county judge even called a U.S. Army Special Operations Command spokesman to come down to Texas and answer questions about Jade Helm. While the man answered questions for three hours, the citizens weren't convinced.

A crucial piece of evidence for the nut-jobs was that Wal-Mart happened to have closed several stores around the same time. Why? And why now? For the Far-Fringe what else than they were to be used as processing facilities once Jade Helm is enacted. There are “no coincidences,” right? Supposedly, the Wal-Marts were to be used as a central command station for operations, or to detain citizens who don't comply with the military takeover. What else?

Persecution you say? We have posts such as "how long will I be allowed to be a christian", you'd think they were being persecuted worse than the gays and Muslims they persecute. I say this because this is part of the persecution that goes into the mix of fear, anger, and h**e.

I would agree.

Do you know the Jade Helm conspiracy was cooked up by the Russians and was so successful at bamboozling American morons they significantly upped their cyber crime to pimp the e******n of Putin’s Pumpkinfuhrer.

Yes! I forgot to mention that. Slipped my mind. I got so caught up in the bizarre nature that a seating governor would not only fall for this farce but take active measures to counteract it--just stunned, I guess--that that added bizarre element got lost. More Russia. And Trump still has not openly challenged or even admitted what all his intelligence community and others around the world have proved: that Russia interfered with our e******n.

The US is a target rich environment for easily manipulated people. Gives me a better idea of what is meant by zombies, the right just never got that they are the zombies.

Some are, surely, especially the Far Right. But most, I feel, are decent people. Conservative values are not outdated and have a place in our society. Attack or just try to supplant those values, and their place in society seems either threatened or replaced. This is what I feel they are feeling. How they may respond is where the animus river flows or floods.

I am not against the Right, though most here seem to think so. I am mostly a caricature of a Lefty: a Soros-backing, Christian-hating, a******n-loving, anti-American, Marxist with close ties to Satan. What is sad is that anyone in their ranks who may in anyway question some policies of the Right, are lumped in that woefully limited and false category.

I have a lot of RW friends, and a neighbor who is a really good friend

You can be mostly conservative but if you disagree with the right on anything you are forever a liberal
