Black folks aren't s***es and no one wants them back. Fact is, the only people calling black folks s***es are those on the right. Show me one citation where liberals said black folks are s***es. And just about every discussion about politics and race here on OPP leads some on the right to call b****s s***es on the Democratic plantation.

Sure there are some black folks who are conservatives, but they are in a vast minority of that population. That black folks can't disagree with conservatives without being called s***es just shows how far you have yet to go in treating b****s as equals.

There are black conservatives and they know the talking points as well as the white conservatives. Doesn't get to the heart of the issue though. Equating b****s with s***ery for v****g Democratic, whether done by w****s or b****s, is demeaning. It assumes that b****s cannot tell which side their bread is buttered on, that they have no reason or self-interest in v****g the way they do. It posits that b****s are stupid, in other words.

As for 'I didn't say that'....your many smileys indicate you agree.

Also, that minority is not going to become a majority any time soon. The US will turn into a non-majority nation (meaning that not a single group has a majority) for the foreseeable future. It's actually Hispanics that have the birth rate to turn the US into a majority Hispanic nation.

I have a hard time understanding all this racial division. I grew up in the Alabama cotton fields, working row by row with black kids. We were all poor. We kids were expected to pick at least 50 lbs. a day. We were given the short rows, the muddy rows next to the Creek. Guess how many times we, black and white kids, slipped off to the Creek for a swim in mid-August. Sometimes we didn't start school till on into September, getting the crops in came first. Color didn't matter, race didn't matter. We were all poor. Remember when the first black kids started in our school. Joined the Army, became a Platoon Sargent. My job was to build teams. To survive combat. Black, white, brown, male, female and wh**ever else. My time in the cotton fields with my "colored, that's what they were called then" kids I think helped me to be a better leader. What I'm trying to say is that a person has the right to believe what they believe and the right to express that belief. Does not matter if they happen to be black or white.

I agree with what you state. As an army brat, I also had the experience of being in an integrated environment. One learns quickly that folks from all backgrounds are individuals first and prefer to be treated as such.

I have no problem with black conservatives as they come to their reasoning the same way white conservatives do. I may think they are mistaken, but not because they are black.

My issue is with the idea that b****s who v**e for liberals or Dems are somehow being kept down by their choice, that they are on a plantation of some sort. It negates the idea that b****s are capable of seeing or v****g for their own self interest. I understand that conservatives think that b****s who v**e for Ds might also be mistaken, but that is a different argument than that the Ds have, or want to, ens***e black v**ers.

That line of reasoning (the plantation) also keeps conservatives and Rs from asking why b****s think it is in their self interest to v**e overwhelmingly for the Ds. For example...conservatives argue that power flows from the bottom up: individuals, local, state, national. B***k A******ns might not agree that is the best for them. They may see that the national power is the one that helps them the most. They have a different experience about bottom up power.

I don't say this to rehash the past, but to point out the effects on the present. Theoretically, it is probably correct that b***k A******ns shouldn't put all their political eggs in one basket, but what other basket do they have?

Did you know she, Candace, was once a Left Activist and commentary writer?
Her perspective is a bit unique. If you were familiar with her you would see she has spoken in regards to the Left trying to continually push ethnic groups to federal funded plans and programs. Making them dependant on the government rather than directly productive.
Look at our Congress. Dependant on the government teet and will do about anything to protect their continued income.
This is what she speaks... The continued v**er loyalty in exchange for targeted social plans funded by the federal government.

There are no more liberals or very few left in the Democratic party. They have become Progressives and do not want the black people to see their misdeeds that keep the black people in the poor house by giving them just enough to survive and not give them a hand up to become self sufficient and proud of that fact. Hopefully more of the minorities will finally see the scheme for what it really is all about. Also I believe there are many white poor people that are in the same position. There are others that keep listening to the daily rant on President Trump with out hearing any of the good things that he has accomplished and hearing false accusations put out by the main stream media, which is in cahoots with the DNC and their ilk. It is the Progressives that keep putting out the false narrative that Trump is an r****t. They use that word repeatedly against all conservatives time and time again. One more question. Why can't the left see that there are people of other colors that are conservatives and proud of that fact? But when they state that fact they get called all sorts of names instead of realizing that they have a mind also and choose to use it.
