Super special counsel legislation blasted as unconstitutional ‘disastrous idea’
April 26, 2018 by press

April 26, 2018, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement blasting the Senate Judiciary Committee proposal to shield Special Counsel Robert Mueller or any future special counsel from firing:

“Americans for Limited Government has always been a leading group in support of Congress reaffirming its constitutional Article I powers. Senator Mike Lee is the leader of the Senate’s Article I project and has correctly noted that today’s Senate Judiciary Committee action is an unconstitutional attempt to protect a Justice Department at-will, political appointee from firing, effectively stripping the President of his constitutional, Article II power to execute the laws. He is not a civil servant and can be removed at any time.

“Even you disagree with Sen. Lee on the constitutionality of the Judiciary Committee’s proposal, this is still a disastrous idea. By taking away the Executive Branch’s ability to remove a Special Counsel without judicial approval, the Judiciary Committee is effectively creating a permanent position. Once appointed, the Attorney General or Acting Attorney General will be stripped of any meaningful oversight of the actions of the Special Counsel. In effect, the Judiciary Committee proposal would make this and any future Special Counsel one of the most powerful people in the world, able to engage in unending investigations of the President or anyone else without meaningful oversight or worse, with blind eye turned on his misconduct.

“In the case of Robert Mueller, his appointment itself is illegitimate because it does not comport with the regulatory requirement that a specific crime be cited by the Acting Attorney General to be investigated. This failure was used by Mueller to cast and recast wider and wider nets desperately seeking crimes that are far afield from the initial allegations. Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley has made a mistake in even considering this ill-conceived legislation, and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is 100 percent correct in not wasting any floor time on it.”

Well just keep giving the President more powers is not going to make this Nation a better Nation.
Just covering up questionable actions is not in any ones best interest but the perpetrator's.
I say that once Acting Attorney General appoints counsel They are bound to hear the results of the counsel.
The results are of great important in bringing t***sparency.
Only wishing to end any action that may show criminal actions perhaps committed be for the final results is not in the best interest of having proper t***sparency.
We the Pubic have been witness to too many cover ups.

To day it is you tomorrow it may not be what you want.
No matter what happens with out t***sparency
In the end every one but the covered up loses.

If we want to have t***sparency we can not go around firing Counsels that bring issue up they don't like.

You want to try Mueller in the court of Pubic opinion.
It was not Trumps personal acts that were of great interest at the onset that drew attention to him.
It was Trumps actions that showed actions that suggested cover up that are now at the core of the issue.

For you to want to say to the Public.
Trying to influence the results of what was a legal action by the administration.
Is it is fine to end it all be cause where it is going now would be harmful to Trump.
If you are dumb enough to go looking for dirt against some one else & in that pile of dirt it is shown you are dirty.
That was your mistake at every step.
It is the adage of if you are guilty:
"The person who lives in a glass house should not throw the first stone."

Look you made several innuendos with nothing to support them. From what I,ve heard this whole action against Trump was illegal and should never
have happened. So when you make these statements how about comeing out with names so we can judge just who you are attacking.

What prey tell have you to back your statement That makes it any better than the statement I made.
It Trump had kept his mouth shut & his finger still it may well have been all over by know.

Firing people & makin a big issue about it binge a witch hunt is not what an innocent person would do.

If either of us was arrested the police could lock us up on just the presumption of a crime.
Our word would carry no weight.
In court a plea of not guilty is still decided by a judge or jury.

The investigation in to Russian involvement was started by Trumps appointed administrator
Looking for a crime. One the Trump hoped would be against Clinton.

Just how dumb was that for Trump to do?

Now you want perhaps 60 % of Americans to look the other way?

I don't care one way or the other of what Trump has said.
I just want to know as much as it is felt in the best interest of Public in the quest for t***sparency will be opened to the public.

We do not need another cover up.

If it is deemed appropriate.
It is well with in the bounds of legal justice to look at Clintons actions also.
As she lost the impact on us is not the same.
I don't care if Trump

A Judge or jury will rule on the issue.
You may still see a cover up.
If that should happen.
looking at as a good thing would be a mistake.

The Attorney General shouldn't ORDER Muller to bring charges within thirty days.

If he has not found anything to impeach President Trump by then close the investigation.

Too much money has been spent on this wild witch hunt any way..

Keep on draining the swamp

Semper Fi brother's and sister's
God bless America and President Trump

They are not giving the President more power, he has the power to fire anyone he chooses that is appointed.

Where in the world did you get Trumps administrator. It was started by a Trump detractor, not a Trump admirer. The Clinton campaign and the Democratic party, controlled by Hillary, were the one's that brought on the Brit who used, supposedly, Russians informants as part of the dossier given to someone in the Obama administration. This dossier, by Comeys admission, was fallacious and unfounded. Now he says it was a minor part of the FISA warrant application. That has been disproven, as it was a major part of the application. As for cover-up's, how about the DNC not letting the FBI look at their server to determine if it had been hacked by the Russians or anyone else. There will probably be more facts to come to light by the inspector general. Then we should know the t***h about many subjects.
