Well, the first quarter GDP is in and I think it's safe to say that it surprised just about everyone at a paltry 2.3 though blue chip economists hit fairly close at 2.2. So what happened? Well as predicted instead of investing in new P&E American corporations were busy buying back their stocks. Add to this that debt for this year is predicted to be a trillion dollars and it looks like this tax cut is a bigger flop than the tax cut under little George.

You don't make enough money if you are working hard that you'll be the one who pays if taxes for the wealthy are raised. One of the ridiculous arguments is when working people support reduced taxes for billionaires.

So you are the example of someone getting pissed off for no reason.

Why should we pay for part of a billionaire's house mortgage? The break should go to working people, when a person makes a hundred million dollars why shouldn't they pay 30 million in taxes, what do they need 20 million in breaks for?

A tax increase could be done to where working people get a reduction, and the deficit is cut to less than half, and paid for by the people making the most money in a country great enough to allow them to do so.

The 2017 GDP of 3.2 was much higher, than 2018 1st qtr.
Trump's 2.3 GDP 1st Qtr. of 2018 was better than 2.0 which economist had expected.
The February stock market had something to do with it, but stocks are climbing back up. Ups and downs are normal stock performance, but overall the average returns are much higher, and that's how long term investors get richer. Spring quarter is getting active again.

Obam's GDP in 2016 was 1.9, a little higher than his prior years average of 1.6.

How much was your health insurance? How is it you cons always seem to get larger tax cuts than everyone else? When you think of the average tax cut for the middle is 1.6%, that would mean at 75K you would get a $1,200 cut per year, or $100 a month. Yes that's more money in your pocket but also more government debt and the more your grandchild is going to have to pay. Oh well, just so you don't have to pay anymore right Archie!

PeterS, that new tax bill starting 2018, has been only 3.5 months old. It is too early to measure that. We will get accurate results of that by 12 months, when businesses prepare their business performances. That is Revenue and expense results or called Income Statement, and Balance Sheets, are prepared by year-end. After that they will be paying taxes. No reports on those yet till end of 2018.

Likewise the US Treasury has not collected federal taxes yet only after the last day of April 15th of the following year 2019. Though emloyees taxes are withheld but most of them are refunded when year-end taxes are submitted. Only stupids thinks it works miracles. It needs to be earned. This is NOT free loading business like democrats do.

99% of high earners will pay very high income tax, in 2018, as a result of this new tax bill.
Those in the Lower Middle Income will pay zero taxes as a result of the increased Standard Deduction.

Hell Archie I've been told I don't have a say because I'm a liberal democrat who lives off you hard working conservatives. And even though I probably pay in a quarter what the lot of you pay in a year it matters not because, according to you cons, I love government and have no motivation but to live off the taxes you pay. Imagine that Archie... put the lot of you together and your taxes couldn't support a homeless person but you still think you support me. My knee is fine, thanks for asking, and why are high income earners going to pay more when they pay less? As for the the low middle, according to the tax foundation before the tax cut is phased in they already paid -1.9% in taxes so unless their tax credits increased the standard deduction is going to be meaningless to them. As for the US Treasury I pay my business taxes monthly and employee taxes are held for FICA and Medicare and in no way refunded--where the heck do you people get your information from?

And what do you mean by your "stupid thinks it works miracles" comment? This was one of the stupidest posts on taxes I've read yet. Were you talking about yourself?
