What if Trump had banned Catholics instead of Muslims?

Many Evangelicals would praise it, many of them seeing the Catholic Church as "the whore of Babylon," a creation of Satan.

In this world, Donald Trump still campaigned for office on a promise to ban foreign nationals of a particular faith from entering the country. Trump still called for “a total and complete shutdown” of people from this faith “entering the United States until our representatives can figure out what is going on.” He still proclaimed that members of this faith h**e us, and that “we can’t allow people coming into this country who have this hatred.”

Trump even stated openly that he would try to disguise his order banning members of this faith from entering the United States by having it appear to be a ban on people from certain countries where that faith predominates.

The only difference between this hypothetical world and our own is that, on Earth 2, Trump targeted Catholicism, a religion shared by a majority of the justices on the Supreme Court. There, Trump’s Catholic ban targeted foreign nationals from Italy, Spain, and a smattering of Latin American nations, all of which are predominantly Roman Catholic.

After handing down the most recent version of his Catholic ban, moreover, Trump retweeted three virulently anti-Catholic videos. When reporters asked the White House about these videos, Trump’s deputy press secretary explained that “the president has addressed these issues with the travel order that he issued earlier this year and the companion proclamation.” (The “travel order” is the analogue to our universe’s Muslim ban.)

Does anyone think that, in this alternative universe, Trump’s Catholic ban would survive even the most cursory review from the Supreme Court?

Why do you print lies? Oh wait, its because you are a jerk.

FACT IS, the ban applies to only six countries. There are about 80 countries with a majority of Muslims. If Trump were banning Muslims, why wouldn't he ban people from all 80 countries?
FACT IS, the ban applies to only about six percent of the Muslims in the world. If Trump were banning Muslims, why would he ban only six percent of them?
FACT is, Trump is banning people from countries that export TERRORISM. Trump is banning terrorism, not Muslims. If that means that some Muslims get caught up in the ban, so be it.

Rumi, you should stop listening to the fools on liberal media. Use your head for something more than a hat rack.

The most populous Muslim nation on earth is Indonesia. If we'd applied this to Indonesia, back when, Barack H. Obama might have been prevented from returnnig to The United States. WOW! Not such a bad idea.

Get your prayer rugs ready and throw away your toilet paper, they won't use it. Get ready to serve halal foods to them or you will be hit up with a lawsuit. I hope you have deep pockets. Your water bill may decrease as bathing is not a priority. Get back to us and let us know how that works out for you after you have taken in about 30 of these peaceful loving, angelic individuals!

The banning of Islamic Nationals that originated in certain countries and City states from entering the USA has been done by many presidents all the way back to Taft. Double talk Obama even nulled some areas of origin from entering. Why are we being forced to defend this decision like it is a radical idea? Trump h**e is why!

100% right. Trump's ban is definitely within the purview of the President. If Judges don't like it or the left the place to settle this is congress.
