Why does Canada have such lax deadly weapon laws.

In Canada apparently it is legal for someone to go out and rent a deadly weapon. This 25 year old had no problem renting his deadly weapon. He then used this deadly weapon to commit mass murder. Maybe Canada needs to restrict the ability of under 26 years olds to rent these deadly weapons. It was not the k**ler who murdered. It was the weapon.

Canada regulates both vehicles and firearms in an effort to reduce access and penalize the misuse of these objects that can be used lethally. It for the most part has worked. Violent crime rates in Canada are a fraction those in the US. While Canadians are able to own and use firearms for the legitimate purposes of hunting and sport shooting. Including high powered rifles and shotguns. Military style autoloading weapons and handguns are pretty tightly regulated. Obviously regulation dosn’t eliminate the threat it just reduces the threat. Think if there were no regulation of vehicles the results would be catastrophic.

While we speak a similar language, we don’t live similar lives. Many Canadians would love to come here. We have always welcomed them. I say this from personal knowledge. And I do get it,

Stupid people think that disarming their fellow citizens will keep them safe. If no one can legally own firearms then they and their families will be safe from crazy people. Crazy people, bad people, and people who don't give a damn will always find the means to k**l. There is no danger free zone. Not even in Canada. Not even in France.

Stupid people want their fellow citizens to become sheep, trusting that the sheep dogs, aka. the Police, the FBI, and the Canadian Mounties, will always arrive in the nick of time to save them when the crazies come a k*****g. Well guess what ? The crazy may be insane, but they are not stupid. They will pick a time period when the sheep dogs are not around. They also will definitely always find a deadly weapon. Pass any law you want. Take every gun from every normal. It will not matter. There will just be more dead bodies because no one will be able to fight back.

I think that you're on the right track there!

I don't feel the need for a rental vehicle, therefore, no one needs rental vehicles.

It is clearly time to use the courts to put all vehicle rental firms out of business.

Victims and familys: Sue their tails off for providing such deadly weapons without oversight.

Regulate them out of business, force them to certify that they only rent to save drivers.

We don't need laws, let the president issue E.O.'s, that's all it takes!

Boycott any bank that loans them money.

It is nice to meet a fellow right thinking citizen. Every anti gun argument can be made against motorized vehicles. Of course the lefties might jump on the anti car/van/truck band wagon because this would be a strong argument for PUBLIC T***SPORTATION. I remember bat crap crazy lefties riding that war horse not too many years ago.

Of course mass k*****gs on Public T***sportation are easier than with motor vehicles. Setting bombs on PT or hijacking buses and trains and wrecking them potentially yields a bigger body count than just mowing down pedestrians with vehicles.

Again, you don't need guns. Disarming citizens does not save lives.
