Not much to say, but when I went to v**e on Tuesday in Missouri, I could hardly believe what happened! I've been v****g in Missouri for about 35 years, and nothing like this has ever happened before! I damn near had a heart attack!

At the starting point in the room, THE LADY OFFICIAL ASKED ME FOR A PHOTO ID! OMG! I had to dig out my drivers license, which was a HORRIBLE experience! An extremely difficult task that took about 10 or 12 seconds out of my busy day!

I congratulated her and thanked her profusely for asking! I might have given her a hug, but I didn't think that would be appropriate there in public and all. I hope this "strange" procedure continues! Maybe there is still hope for these here United States OF America!

I'm still having trouble getting over it, being a senior citizen and all. It was certainly a pleasant surprise! WOW! I finished v****g, and as I left the room I thanked her again! I felt good the rest of the day knowing I had pissed off a Progressive!

About time, IMHO!

Hummm, it makes your day to irritate someone else? Most of the rest of us would rather make life more pleasant for ourselves and others around us. It is sad to think our country is so divided politically that one party deems the other the enemy and looks for ways to further separate than try to find common ground. How can we expect congress to work together if we are unwilling to listen to alternate opinions and to see the things we have in common.

The only problem is that progressive soc/com/Marxism ideology has nothing in common with our American republic constitutionally protected freedom and liberty under our system of individual opportunity of free enterprise in life, liberty and pursuit of happiness...nor does progressivism have anything in common with Americanism.
It seems you may have taken the senior citizen from Missouri renarks out if context.

l am 68 years old and I've lived and v**ed in 3 different States, New Jersey, Texas, and Arizona... But in the 47 years l've v**ed, all 3 States have always asked for a driver's license or other proof of residency such as a phone bill that was no older than a couple of months and showed my home address... Missouri, the "Show Me State" has only recently asked for proof of residency?!? This sounds "fishy"... Now if you has said you v**ed in Progressive Illinois...

This is Missouri?!? The "Show Me State"?!? And they've only started asking for proof of residency this year?!? Sounds kind of "fishy" to me!!!

Why?!?

Because, I'm 68 and over the past 47 years, I've lived and v**ed in New Jersey, Texas, and Arizona, and every time I v**ed I was asked for my driver's licence or at least proof of residency like a recent phone bill or a v**er id card with my address on it...

That's why I find this hard to believe...

I have been v****g for 64 years and had to show i d everytime and I don't see any problem with proving who you are.The only reason someone wouldn't want to show i d is because he is trying to c***t someone out of their v**e.

A couple of years ago I was asked once. Since then no one has asked for identification for me to v**e. Then again most everyone knows me at the poll. I do not have a problem either way. To slightly change the subject to something related. The rest of my personal universe is getting batcrap crazy about IDs. Last year I renewed my CDL driver's license and had to dig out my birth certificate and sit in a DMV office for 3 hours watching DMV TV. Cruel and unusual punishment.

So life for normal Americans is getting worse. But it does get worse. My wife is beginning to plan foreign trips and insisted we get passports. If you thought this would be easy, you would be sadly mistaken. You have to find an official place to get your picture taken. Since my wife went through it first she found a Post Office, not all of them can do it, that can take the photo and process the passport paperwork. We call for an appointment, arrive, and the woman at the Post Office tells me that my Birth Certificate is not good enough. It was good enough for my CDL last year, but not for a Passport. It does not have the raised seal or list my parents.

She was in fact very much nicer than most government employees I deal with. She said here is the deal. You can do this online and wait up to 3 months to get another Birth Certificate or you can drive a few hours to an official state office and get one in a day. Okay. We call the state hotline and get put in one of those calling trees. Eventually when I gave up, my dear wife spoke to a human and we got more information. We had to get there before 11:30 am to get the document the same day.

This city which I will not mention sucked to drive through. They tend to put the exit signs after the exits. The 100 address was not in the 100 block, it was in the 400 block. Eventually after going to the police station we found the poorly marked building. 45 minutes in a line, that I must say actually moved, and I had my new and improved Birth Certificate. Apparently I am not the only one who found themselves with a bad Birth Certificate as everyone there seemed to have the same problem going for a new passport.

Tomorrow I have a new appointment at the Post Office to do my Passport. My point in this rant is, Democrats think that it is an inconvenience to have to provide an ID to v**e. Well how about doing something about the inconvenience the government is putting the rest of us through ?

What irrates you in what he shared.. It was positive, unless you find having to show ID as an irritant..??

I believe your comments to be more of an irritant than his post.. Was that your intent??

I work in a government office in Illinois and every person that gets helped has to have a state issued state id. I don’t know if I can remember one time that a claimant couldn’t provide one. Every single person that comes in has one and I’ve asked if they know anyone that doesn’t have one and not one person has said yes. There is no reasonable burden in having a verifiable photo id.

Right you are, run down to Mexico and find some of those caravan, universal citizens and smuggle them back to your home. No need to be separate, you can easily fit eight or ten in your basement or perhaps, you could move to the basement and make them happy with the rest of your home. They will wake you when it is time for you to go to work.
Be sure to take them with you when you go v**e.

Been there myself... I'm just wondering how long I'll be waiting in line for my uplifted sealed death certificate... What?!? You think this stuff is going to end once we're deceased?!?
