A caravan of more than 1,500 families including men, women, and children are making their way from Central America through Mexico and are expected to arrive at the US-Mexico Border in the coming days to request refugee status.

Known as the Viacrucis Migrante 2018, the caravan began on March 25 in the state of Chiapas and is expected to reach Tijuana within a month where the members of the group are expected to request refugee status from the U.S. government. The caravan is organized by the immigrant rights group Pueblo Sin Fronteras who have been posting updates about the caravan’s journey through Mexico.

The group is reportedly made up of families from Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras who are fleeing extreme poverty and gang violence. The group has been demanding a stop to the violence.

While the group is made up primarily of individuals who could be considered undocumented by Mexican authorities, officials have stepped aside, Mexico’s El Universal reported. Additionally, the group has been thankful to the local governments in various rural communities in southern Mexico for helping the caravan by providing t***sportation, food, and other aid.

The push to the border comes at a time the Trump administration has clashed with the Mexican government over their apparent leniency when dealing with drug cartels, border security, and the payment of walls.

I understood that the Mexicans were stopping them at their southern border. This must end NOW. We can no longer afford to be politically correct.

Mexico doesn't want them that is why they are allowed to travel through Mexico to its northern border to reach the land of milk and honey.

What an honor that those families love our nation so much that they will suffer this amount of hardship for the opportunity to live here. I sure wish them luck and know they will be welcome as new Americans!

I'm sure all our wonderful liberal friends will welcome these wonderful people and invite them to stay in someone else's home on someone else's dime. Then run around saying what a benevolent great person they are for welcoming these future Democrat v**ers, er I mean refugees into the country. Gee if the lib's are lucky, maybe enough i******s can drive wages down even more so the sheeple become ever more dependent on government largess.

So sad. All those countries have strict gun laws. Only the gangs & corrupt governments have guns. Let’s arm them w/ confiscated weapons @ the border & send them back home through Mexico.

Mexico will wish there was a wall, might even help pay for it. We need to make these caravans a Mexican problem.

I love this. Send in the armed National Guard. They deserve to be stopped anyway we can stop them. Yeah, Mexico must be helping because in the past they haven’t been allowed to travel through Mexico.
