Granted there are differences between this case and Nicholas Cruz, but my point is that yes under existing law, authorities can preemptively take action to stop potential mass shootings. The Florida case has been politically used by the left to bash the NRA and gun owners. When the government is motivated to take action before hand lives are saved.

Sometimes there are no warnings, but in many cases warnings are screaming for action and are ignored. Kudos to competent Government individuals who are not just collecting a paycheck and phoning it in every day.
