But just to encourage a little thought I could point out that Alaska has a large native population who get subsidies of one kind or another and Washington is the one who decides to give those subsidies. Conditions up here can be pretty harsh so I don't begrudge them. And homelessness. You can't very well have people living in the streets in Alaska. What would the numbers in California be if conditions there were the same as in Alaska? A lot of Alaskans are seasonal workers too. They can only work part of the year, but their jobs are vital for the well-being of Americans everywhere. There is very little unemployment where I'm at
