many moves ahead of the left

“…Democrats say they’re watching nervously as polls start to trend in Republicans’ favor — and worry they’re witnessing the beginning of a slow-motion train wreck that they have no idea how to stop.” — Politico, 2/20/18
How did it come to this? The left is stunned to sense the game change; wasn’t supposed to happen.
Let me first assess the state of play, the opponents, and the strategies on the chessboard. Arrayed against the Trump agenda stand the largest combined forces to confront an American President in recent memory. There’s the Democrats, the establishment wings of both national parties, their political dynasties, including the Clinton machine. The worldwide drive-by media. The administrative state — that is, the bureaucratic regulatory apparatus that “runs” government and restricts the private sector. All l*****ts.
There’s the Deep State, or Shadow Government, with Clinton/Obama apparatchik leftovers. The intelligence “community.” International trade negotiators, lobbyists, and the diplomatic corps. The donor class. The defense bar. Federal, state, and local judges. Hollywood, the arts and entertainment crowd. Silicon Valley, the tech monopolies, Google, Amazon, Facebook, Twitter. Academia. Unions. All l*****ts.
And then there’s the global “charities” and “philanthropies,” the UN, the so-called non-governmental organizations. The fundraising and conference-attending global elite. The corporate industrial complex. Global community organizers, including “citizen-of-the-world” billionaires like George Soros. The ruling cadres from c****e dictatorships, Islamof*****t regimes, and democrat-socialist blocs. All l*****ts.
Corruption runs rife. The sluice of dirty cash — bribes, blackmail, payoffs, money laundering, arms-dealing, drugs, human trafficking, and more — flows through it all.
Every last one of these power brokers despises Donald Trump, the American capitalist builder and dealmaker, who has come — and they know it — to upend the whole rotten system. A system fueled by totalitarianism and trillions of dollars. This outsider is outside their control, with a competing source of power, over which they have no leverage. In fact, the leverage is going the other way, for which they were not prepared.
How is it possible? They began implementing a brilliantly conceived, flawlessly executed strategy before Trump made his opening move as Republican nominee: they ran the “Russian Gambit.” Guaranteed to ensnare, ruin, bankrupt, and even imprison him. Media, Deep State, Intelligence coordinate the scheme and the trap perfectly, in every detail. How could it fail? Against these global forces, Trump has only his family, his core group of loyalists, his supporters — the deplorables — and a portion of new media, including talk radio. How could such a small band prevail against the entrenched world powers of the left?
Not only did Trump reach the Oval Office — he has them boxed in.
And yet — and yet — almost inexplicably, miracle of miracles, Donald J. Trump is in the White House. Not only did he defeat all these forces and their myriad schemes to reach the Oval Office — he remains in place, to their everlasting shock and fury. And he has them boxed in.
Here’s how Conrad Black put it, in The New York Sun: “Donald Trump’s critics never imagined that more than a year into his Presidency, his approval rating would be rising and just under 50 percent, the economy would be cranking up to a 4 percent growth rate, North Korea would have quieted down temporarily, U.S. oil production would be rising sharply and imports steadily declining, isis dispersed, over $6 trillion added to Dow-Jones Industrial stock values (despite [the recent] slide), and the Clintons as well as Mr. Trump’s official investigators facing far more serious legal questions than he is.”
No, they never imagined it. But after almost uniform obstruction from the entire political class for his first year, President Trump was finally able to coax his own reluctant Party into its first joint success: Republican tax reform, one of the most important pillars of his economic growth strategy. He signed it into law on December 22, with explosive results. As we go to press two months later on February 22, cnbc reports, “Small-Business Confidence Hits Record High in 2018 After Trump Tax-Reform Win.” Bloomberg announces: “U.S. consumer sentiment unexpectedly rose in February to the second-highest level since 2004 as tax cuts and a strong job market helped Americans shrug off stock-market volatility.” According to a 2/14/18 Morning Consult/Politico poll, as reported by our friend Kim Strassel of The Wall Street Journal, Americans’ “top priority (by far) is the economy, and … v**ers trust Republicans far more (43-32) on that issue. This is the tax cut in action.”
And all that is in addition to the record low unemployment, record job creation, record manufacturing revival, record markets already happening thanks to Trump executive action, trade policies, and regulatory relief.
Now, the Democrats — who were certain their takeover of Congress in November was in the bag — are shell-shocked:
• “Trump Rebound Has Democrats Fretting Over Midterms.” — Politico, 2/20/18
• “Tax Overhaul Gains [51%] Public Support, Buoying Republicans.” — The New York Times, 2/19/18
• “Democrats Struggle with Rising Popularity of gop Tax Law.” — Washington Examiner, 2/17/18
• “Democrats Go on Defense as the Republican Tax Plan Grows More Popular.” — cnbc, 2/14/18
• “Democrats Are Scrambling for a Cohesive Message to Counter the Rising Popularity of the gop Tax Law.” — Business Insider, 2/14/18
• “gop Gains on Generic B****t, Trump Approval Ticks Upward.” — Politico, 2/14/18
What’s the Dem response? Folks, they are literally running on gun confiscation, amnesty for i*****l a***ns, and deposing the duly elected President. Oh, and sneering at the tax cuts as mere “crumbs,” according to Nancy Pelosi. She also calls the tax cuts “unpatriotic,” and “a black cloud h*****g over the national budget.” Pelosi is taking her anti-crumb show on the road, reports The San Francisco Chronicle on 2/21/18, “to tamp down growing enthusiasm for Trump tax cuts.”

Sicilinthing: Just what the culture c*******t want to hear!! you're selling too many of us short!!!!

"War is an ugly thing but not the ugliest of things; the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feelings which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."
John Stuart Mill - English Philosopher/Economist
1806-73
