A Case for V**er ID » Commentary -- GOPUSA
by Susan Brown

Recent actions taken by states to enhance the integrity of America's e*******l process by requiring v**er ID cards, an idea that most Americans support, has caused quite a stir amongst liberals. Author James Boyard once wrote, "Democracy must be something more than two wolves and a sheep v****g on what to have for dinner." Wolves don't play fair, especially up here in Alaska. The other day, a wolf devoured a dog right in front of its owner despite her best efforts to defend it. If we do not demand fair and honest e******ns, wolves of another kind will one day rule us.

Those opposing v**er ID laws hurl accusations, suggesting such laws are driven by hatred, as Vice President Biden said back in February. Others say it's a r****t move intended to prevent minorities and poor people from v****g, which is not the case given that states requiring v**er ID offer cards free of charge.

But let's be real, here. We need identification for just about everything, like buying alcohol and cigarettes, getting cable TV, purchasing a cellphone plan, boarding an airplane, going to the doctor, getting a driver's license...or a passport... or a social security card, qualifying for welfare, entering government buildings, and even signing up for Obamacare.

Liberals support ID rules for every other occasion. The First lady required a social security number and photo ID to attend her book signing in 2012. Attendees at the 2012 Democrat National Committee convention in Charlotte were asked to whip out their state-issued IDs in the same state (NC) where 30,000 dead people were found on its v**er rolls. And just last month, NAACP organizers for a "Moral March" rallying against photo ID laws told marchers to bring photo identification to participate. Oh, the hypocrisy!

So, why are they so afraid of v**er ID? Maybe because Liberals couldn't win e******ns without rampant v***r f***d? Consider: A recent investigation by New York City's Department of Investigations had its undercover agents show up at polls pretending to be people who had moved, were incarcerated or deceased. According to the report, they were allowed to v**e 97 percent of the time. In another investigative report, a large number of non-citizens were registered to v**e in Florida, and a 2012 Pew Poll reported at least 1.8 million deceased v**ers are registered to v**e across the U.S.

True the V**e, an organization which claims to be in the IRS' crosshairs says that back in 2012 more than 24 million v***r r**********ns were invalid; more than 2.75 million people were registered to v**e in more than one state; various counties in Indiana and Ohio had more registered v**ers than residents; 160 counties in 19 states had over 100 percent v***r r**********n; and the Democrat Party of Florida and the National Council of La Raza were under investigation for alleged v***r r**********n fraud.

Recent news from the Philadelphia Inquirer potentially exposes a much darker side to the v**er ID issue. The March 17 investigative report, "Kane Shut Down Sting That Snared Philadelphia Officials," stated that four area Democrat legislators allegedly took "multiple bribes ranging from a few hundred dollars to thousands in cash and Tiffany jewelry....in exchange for v**es or contracts, including opposition to Pennsylvania's proposed v**er ID law." Republicans were also offered bribes, but did not bite. Despite what the Inquirer described as solid evidence, the state's new Attorney General Kathleen Kane, a Democrat, "secretly dropped the case in 2013" — without as much as a peep from AG Eric Holder.

Given those who are dead, incarcerated or non-citizens aren't likely to complain if someone fraudulently casts a v**e in their name, wouldn't you say v**er IDs are a great idea? Otherwise, the wolves will circle the last bastions of democracy and v****g will become as worthless as casting a b****t in Pyongyang.

Along with v**er ID we need to have literacy tests. Maybe then we would get a higher calibre of elected officials instead of the usual i***ts.

Democrats pretend it's still the 50's where ID's were required for little yet today you do very little without ID. This crap that the poor can't get ID is very thin, how do they get there welfare check, yep from the government but the government is now going to tell us they didn't have an ID to sign up. If that be the case then the US government has allowed fraud , how many times?

L.E. : The Socialist have been successful in dividing us by class/race, undermining our culture, morals, Judeo-Christian values, health care system, education, capitalism and Constitution. What more could you ask for from any enemy of America? V**er ID laws? Its not whats in the best interest of the Country but what is the best interest of the Party!!!! I don't think we will wake-up the useful and useless i***ts!!!

The Democrats would love to stop V**er ID law, it makes it a lot harder to get away with it. I wish that they would require your left and right thumb print when you v**e.

IMHO, anyone claiming that the democrats don't know that v**e f***d is the major reason there is democrat majority in the US Senate, and a President in the Whitehouse, is a fool or a liar. That's the reason they fight so hard to prevent proper v**er ID laws.

I'm 57 yrs old, have been living in a relatively small town here in the northeast all my life. when I went to v**e, with one of my brothers, (we are a big family in this small town) we shook hands with a half dozen people we knew, exchanged small talk light friendly conversation with lots of people. of course I was carded, and not having my wallet on me, I couldn't v**e until I retrieved my wallet out of my vehicle. tough being a white , legal citizen in America today. but that's ok, let ALL the illegal, welfare collecting, free phone, food, lodging, medical, college educated, hands out, whats in it for me, low lifes v**e without any hassle or request for an ID. how do you think the scumbag demorats stay in power, illegal v**es, bought v**es, multi v****g, mishandling and counting of v**es. well demo's, get ready to have your asses handed to you this nov. eat s**t and die you c*******t, anti American sons of b***hes.

First time I v**ed was in the NE, a little town of 11,000 where everyone knows everyone, at the time there were no b****s, nothing but lilly w****s and I was carded (v**er ID and drivers license). When I moved to Florida I was carded so I thought that was natural only to find it only seems natural for w****s others may use a utility bill or other form that proves nothing.

Yes, they can get their welfare without ID.

Florida does not require v**er ID to register or to v**e. V***r r**********n or v****g clerks can ask for it, but cannot refuse registration or v****g.
