We learned a couple of important lessons recently, our personal information is being mined by companies many of us rely on and trust and that information is being used to undermine our democracy. Secondly we see that many egregious abuses of power and criminal activity by the rich and powerful are cloked by non disclosure agreements and non public arbitration. There is a way to right this wrong that I think people on both the right and left can agree on. What would you think of a t***sparency act? Your online information would be protected and in your control as it is in Europe and companies would be required in simple terms to notify you when and how it was being used with you given a no charge opt out. Secondly corporate and government secrecy would be limited to provable trade secrets and issues of actual national security. No forcing people into private arbitration, nullify gag orders and non disclosure agreements and make all tax returns beyond a basic 1040 form reviewable public record.
