Shepard Smith Goes On ‘Planned’ Vacation After Dust-Up With Sean Hannity

Fox News ‘ lone liberal news anchor picked a fight with one of its biggest stars and now he is running from it.
Afternoon anchor Shepard Smith took a shot at Sean Hannity and other primetime hosts but now that they have fired back Smith is going on retreat.
No Rules
Smith took a shot at Fox News hosts Hannity, Laura Ingraham and Tucker Carlson for the lack of rules he thinks they have.
In a story for Time Magazine titled, “Shep Smith Has The Hardest Job At Fox News” the anchor said he and the primetime anchors:”serve different masters.”
“Some of our opinion programmings is there strictly to be entertaining,” he said.
“We work for different reporting chains, we have different rules. They don’t really have rules on the opinion side. They can say wh**ever they want. If it’s their opinion,” he added.
The interview came after FOX NEWS announced it had signed the anchor to a multiyear contract.
“I don’t really watch a lot of opinion programming,” Smith said. “I’m busy.”
Smith responded to criticism he has gotten from people for his perceived liberal bias.
“I guess, I know, that there are people who come at everything in a political way. I don’t. I’ve never really liked politics,” he said. “I’ve always said that I thought politics in America was weird and creepy, and lacked a connection to reality.”
Fighting Back
His comments were not taken kindly by the primetime hosts he disparaged.
“Always liked Shep, but his comments were inconsiderate & inaccurate. The hard working team at the Ingraham Angle does real reporting, develops impt sources and scores big interviews. Very proud of them,” Ingraham wrote on Twitter.
“While Shep is a friend with political views I do not share,” Hannity said. “and great at breaking news, he is clueless about what we do every day. Hannity breaks news daily-Warrant on a Trump assoc, the unmasking scandal, leaking intel, Fisa abuse, HRC lawbreaking, dossier and more REAL NEWS!”
Now Smith is running from the controversy.
On Friday, during his show, he announced he was going on a “pre-planned” vacation.”
“Going to take a one-week vacation that was previously planned, and be back in a week, and everything will be peachy-keen & hunky-dory. I can’t wait,” he told “Fox News Sunday” host Chris Wallace.
“That’s what they always say: Previously planned and one-week vacation,” Wallace quipped.
