No kidding! I'm watching bits and pieces on this move stating that they weren't often on the same page (Rex and Donald), especially on this North Korea deal. So, this is probably a great move. Tillerson was known for putting people in who weren't always 100% behind Trump from the get-go. Not good. We saw that with a lot of the Obama holdovers and what chaos that caused.

Tillerson should not have been hired because he lacks diplomatic and public policy experience. He was good at the private sector. Good luck to him.
I wish Newt Gingrich could have been hired at the beginning. He knows a lot of diplomacy and public policy due to his Speaker of the House background, and professor of history.
But I think Mike Pompeo will serve best to meet expectations of president Trump.
Good luck to him also. I don't want frequent turn over of people in the administration.
The best thing at the beginning was could have done the planning and choosing the best people for the position they were assigned.
Appointing Jeff Session was also a mistake. Besides, he was in Congress, he should have stayed there. Now that position is being taken by a democrat. I think they should have chosen Chris Christie, a very effective prosecutor.

I agree about Christie. Or let him head up the FBI maybe. I think that would've happened if he didn't have the bridge scandal. I've still got my fingers crossed for trey gowdy.

The very main reason why president Trump removed Rick Tillerson was due to their differences how to approach the North Korea problems. Tillerson does not support president Trump especially the upcoming summit between Trump and Kim Jung Un.
President could not work with him having different approach on very important issues.
I support the president on that matter. It would not be productive for Tillerson to stay if he does not support the president.
Tillerson was the wrong person for the State Dept. to begin with. He did not have diplomatic policy background. At the beginning I did not support his appointment. I have hoped that Newt Gingrich should have been appointed considering his years as Speaker of the House and university history professor.
I think Mike Pompeo is a better choice replacing Tillerson. Tillerson does good in private sector. Good luck to him.

Personally, I think Condalesa Rice would be very effective. She has
a working relationship with foreign countries and policies. She saved
Bushes rear end on many occasions!
