The Bible is littered with landmines and eternal t***h. It takes the Holy Spirit to navigate safely. Excusing acts of ungodliness, such as s***ery and genocide and other unrighteous behavior, are the landmines in the OT. They are the words of Bronze Age man, not God. In effect, there is no t***h in the Bible: the only t***h is what Spirit reveals. This is very--no, extremely--dangerous. Throughout history, many have claimed to be led by the Spirit that did unspeakable evil. Yet we cannot lean on our own understanding. How do we differentiate between our thoughts and God's thoughts, his ways and our ways?

A four letter word: Love! If the NT is the final word on God, then love is the only answer to every question, fear, or doubt. If you can love your enemy, than you are as perfect as God is in heaven. (MT5:48) Read it in context. Love of enemy makes you as perfect as God is in heaven. Not one for s***ery or genocide or earthly kings or bankers. Love is the sole Gospel, no matter how inconvenient, life-threatening to you or family, or damaging to your place in society.There is no and never will be a political fix that outweighs love. Turn the other cheek: you are citizens of heaven. Serve the LBGTQ community with kindness, gentleness, long-suffering, and all the spiritual fruits, then let God change hearts. That is his job. It is not up to you. His glory and caring for the least of these are your only--ONLY--concerns. Be Christian, love no matter what.

Do you think that you accomplish what you preach from your unique interpretation of the Bible? You preach about t***h and love but for years you lied about who you were until administration shut down your other identities and you constantly spew h**e at Christians and are extremely judgmental! How can you continue to preach love but show no indication of love for those that DO NOT believe as you, especially those that support the 2nd Amendment and chose to support legally carrying a gun ? I just don't see love, understanding, compassion or t***h from you.

I seriously hope you answer my question! All preachers should be able to prove that they follow what they demand of others! Don't you think?

ALL of scripture is God's Final Word and your interpretation reveals you are none of His.We cannot twist scripture to suit any mistaken notion we may have about our great love, what do we know of love ? All our goodness is as filthy rags.

We are the salt of the earth and the light of the world, not "filthy rags." Christ said this of us without any addendums or qualifiers. We were uniquely made in his image and likeness to glorify our father and humbly serve the least of these. God does not make junk. Imago dei.

All of scripture has to be read from this perspective: God is love! Not every word is inerrant t***h. That is why we need God's grace, to discern his Eternal Word. Belief is needed but not eventually to be relied on and should fade away to action: to be as Christ was in the world. Belief in the doctrines and dogma of the Church too often lead Christians to think that is enough. Lament publicly about baking a cake for a gay couple is not following Christ; he was close to and hung around with the so-called dregs of society. He accepted them as is. He never berated any sinner but just gave love and healing, saving his wrath for the "pillars of that society," those misleading the people into useless actions of piety. Like Trump.

Yes. You have your view and I have mine. But I like that you finally addressed the topic, for once. I am not changing scripture, I am challenging it. Did you know, and would it bother you, that the section in John8:7 about casting the first stone was included in the late 3rd Century? Obviously not by John. The great wrinkle in theology this caused still has not been properly answered. You good with that? Think anything that does not adhere to your beliefs is a c*******tic revisionist plot? Doubting what should be questioned a task to undermine? This is so Right thinking. Never doubt. No inquiry. Just lock-step belief. You cannot even ask questions to conservative Christians without a smug rebuke or worse for asking about so-called established beliefs.

(2 Tim 3:16) If you learn from a mistake, is that wisdom somehow damaged or lesser? Is it "profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness"? The Jews, as a people, personalized God. It was a mistake. Their needs and actions were not all sanctioned by God. Genocide and s***ery were not God's instructions. The punishments they added to the Commandments, that usually called for death, such as showing disrespect for parents, were their invention and not the Word of God. God resisted their call for a king, yet the Jews insisted...and God reluctantly relented.
