The rightwingnut media, led by the fools at faux and fat limburg, constantly bash the Canadian healthcare system.

Finally at least one Canadian doctor has had enough of the rightwingnut lies and distortions and takes conservative senator Burr to school and frankly ridicules him for his lack of knowledge.

It is about time that American doctors push back against the rightwingnut liars

The nonpartisan Fraser Institute reported that 46,159 Canadians sought medical treatment outside of Canada in 2011, as wait times increased 104 percent — more than double — compared with statistics from 1993.

Specialist physicians surveyed across 12 specialties and 10 provinces reported an average total wait time of 19 weeks between the time a general practitioner refers a patient and the time a specialist provides elective treatment — the longest they have ever recorded.

In 2011, Canadians enrolled in the nation’s government-dominated health service waited long periods of time for an estimated 941,321 procedures. As many as 2.8 percent of Canadians were waiting for treatment at any given time, according to the Institute.

“In some cases, these patients needed to leave Canada due to a lack of available resources or a lack of appropriate procedure/technology,” according to the Institute. “In others, their departure will have been driven by a desire to return more quickly to their lives, to seek out superior quality care, or perhaps to save their own lives or avoid the risk of disability.”

Oh gee, somebody must have made that up, because there is no way us dumb conservatives could be right! ;-)
I just took a little time reading the "addictiveinfo" site and it reads like that latest issue of "The Onion". Hilarious! Too bad some people are gullible enough to believe it.

Petty Patty,

Could you address the urgent care as opposed to elective care? There is a big difference. Treat a person who has a condition that requires care or provide treatment to a person wanting a face lift. Although in some cases, that face lift could be considered an emergency. Know what I mean?

Perhaps a read through this article may help you get a balanced view of the wait times before you respond.

http://www.ryananddebi.com/2008/12/19/healthcare-wait-times-us-vs-canada/

The information is as middle of the road that is available. When doing research, just a thought, but media will use best case scenarios with worst case to spotlight a difference. And they will use elective procedures against essential procedures. The Fraser Institute report you reference is old, from 2011. Is there a more up-to-date report? It is also worth while to note that this Institute is politically conservative; ergo they are biased. Sorry about that. I am looking for t***h, not the lean to left or right.

Here is a free tip for you. Starting out a thread with 3rd grade name calling when you are trying to get an adults attention will more than likely only cause them to ignore the rest of your tantrum. You have wasted any time or effort that you put into trying to get their attention.

I have no idea who the people you quoted as a source are. However, they made at least one statement that is an out and out lie, regarding the German Healthcare system. Included below is a link to correct that. If one statement is such an egregious departure from the t***h, the rest are suspect.

I seen that Bo.. The lady doctor's intelligence level was way over his head. Senator Sanders was having a good time as well.

The other lady in the video worked for a company that was mentioned yesterday or the day before by one of the bible thumpers around here. I noticed that when I watch the video again.

So, you can be insulting....even to kids, but when the mud is slung back into your face; you see your self as exempt.

Now back to the thread. Answer the question and show a balanced view. Not a one sided tainted biased piece of crap.

Here is a short funny to lighten the mood:

A guy calls a company and orders their 5-day, 10 lb. weight loss program.

The next day, there's a knock on the door and there stands before him a voluptuous, athletic, babe dressed in nothing but a pair of Nike running shoes and a sign around her neck.

She introduces herself as a representative of the weight loss company. The sign reads, "If you can catch me, you can have me."

Without a second thought, he takes off after her. A few miles later puffing and puffing, he finally gives up. The same girl shows up for the next four days and the same thing happens. On the fifth day, he weighs himself and is delighted to find he has lost 10 lbs. as promised.

He calls the company and orders their 5-day/20 pound program.

The next day there's a knock at the door and there stands the most stunning, beautiful, sexy woman he has ever seen in his life. She is wearing nothing but Reebok running shoes and a sign around her neck that reads, "If you catch me you can have me".

Well, he's out the door after her like a shot. This girl is in excellent shape and he does his best, but no such luck. So for the next four days, the same routine happens with him gradually getting in better and better shape. Much to his delight on the fifth day when he weighs himself, he discovers that he has lost another 20 lbs. as promised.

He decides to go for broke and calls the company to order the 7-day/50 pound program. "Are you sure?" asks the representative on the phone. "This is our most rigorous program."

"Absolutely," he replies, "I haven't felt this good in years."

The next day there's a knock at the door; and when he opens it he finds a huge muscular guy standing there wearing nothing but running shoes and a sign around his neck that reads, "If I catch you, you're mine."

He lost 63 pounds that week.

Please copy a post of mine where I resorted to calling another member of this forum a name. Perhaps I should exclude 669. Probably if you dig deep enough I have probably lost my patients with it.
