The global elitists are against tariffs because they raise the cost of goods which the poor buy. By being able to buy goods cheaply the poor have been able to go without any real increase in income for 40 years. Tariffs are bad because they will raise the costs of goods and the poor will see how they have been screwed for so long.

Oh come now. You do know cons could give a crap about the poor. They believe tariffs are good because Heir Fuhrer says they are good. No, if you want to get to them tell them that the minuscule tax cut they just got is going to disappear because of inflation caused by Trumps policies--cutting taxes during a period of expansion and tariffs that will force all prices higher. You see, the only thing a con really cares about is his wallet and when money disappears from it because they v**ed for Trump someone needs to explain to them just how big an i***t they are...

If the poor ( by which I mean what is called the middle class ) can buy the 65 inch HDTV what do they have to complain about? The global elitists want to keep the population calm, but they can't publically say that is their goal. With the tax cuts and tariffs I don't see how President Trump could do any more to disturb domestic tranqulity, over time. It's very sad.

So its better to keep the poor poor just so they can save a bit on purchasing goods? Do you really think the amount the poor consumer saves buying at Walmart is more than what they'd make in a good full time manufacturing job created through the combination of tax reduction, regulations reduction, and tariffs?

See, I don't understand how that relates to this sentence:

I'm not trying to be obtuse...it sounds to me as if you're saying if we raise tariffs the poor will see how they're already being screwed.
