Watergate was a golden opportunity for a left oriented newspaper to pillory a h**ed Republican. I have to admit that I did not v**e for Nixon, he proved to be every bit as bad as I believed. First he froze wages and prices but did nothing about companies like mine which cut employees salaries 10 %. After he had shut down my salary progression for two years, he took us off the gold standard, setting the stage for the Federal Reserve to l**t the value of everyones savings and earnings. That alone earned him a place in hell and the Watergate break-in perpetrated by the Plumbers unit, the black bag team from hell, composed of whack-jobs like G Gordon Liddy was the frosting on the cake. Enemies lists, putting hits on people, there wasn't anything those creeps wouldn't do. Nixon also used the IRS to give grief to his political enemies.
By the time of Watergate the entire nation had enough of Richard Nixon so the investigative journalism was simply Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward’s capitalizing on a lucky break and following it up with the many disgruntled former supporters of Richard Nixon. This is a far cry from the current climate in which the media is complicit in leaking destructive information, designed to disrupt the operation of the nation's government. Fabrication of totally false information has been proven as well and the television media is leading the field with alleged journalists who are peddlers, not of information but hatred, calumny and unfounded accusation.

Your right, I guess that I kind of forgot some of that. You will have to go back further in your time machine to get to objective journalism then.

My, aren't we bitter. Try turning off Fox news and seek out some foreign news feeds. Journalistic integrity is still alive................just not here.

You confuse bitterness with a realistic grasp of the factors of our lives. The gratuitous attacks on FOX News is the universal mindless rebuttal for all opposing thought. Even a broken clock is correct twice a day so FOX news can't be 100 % wrong. CNN, however, has come close to achieving this.
