Since I'm looking at your post through the lens of Bible prophecy and America is not a player, I see only two scenarios. One, America has a complete financial meltdown, economic collapse, taking it completely out of world affairs. Two, American attacked with nuclear weapons, east coast and west coast all major shipping ports and financial hubs. An attack of this nature would put survivors into worse than third world conditions permanently removing America from the world scene.
The second scenario more likely than the first. Then we have to consider China that seeks to take America's place as the world's leader. They have already set up a banking system causing many countries to exit the Federal T-bills which has quietly been in sell off causing deep concerns by the Federal Reserve. The last decade China has out spent every nation combined for military buildup, with advanced technology in aircraft carriers, battle ships, airforce, and can easily field an army of over a million soldiers.
For Russia and China to secure a secret alliance beyond what they have now, China could sit off the side lines allowing Russia to do its bidding without interference. We know Russia has nuclear submarines that are 100% virtually undetected and can enter our coast showering multiple warheads without warning.
For America's absence in later biblical passages during the time of "Jacob's troubles", an attack is probable, likely, immanent give Israel is celebrating their 70th Anniversary this May, and since prophecy is and has been 100% accuracy, the question of the apostles " Master, what will be the signs of the end"? Understanding Russians history of world dominance longstanding. Hitler acted on his mission for complete world dominance, while Russia has been quietly waiting opportunities. They have out spent America ten to one the last two decades. Russia has advanced technology far beyond what the American government would have believe otherwise. Our military cannot be effective in two major engagements and Russia has developed extremely high technology anti missile defenses that we don't have in place or have matched their technology.
