I do not think Liberals have any right to discuss this topic, because they are morally bankrupt.

Why don't you ask the criminals what they think about gun control (confiscation)? They will tell you that they are all for it! It makes their jobs much easier if they have nothing to fear from their victims. Would you say that was off topic too? What about the victims of crime? Facing someone who is out to k**l them, who is armed and determined to do harm while the about-to-be victims, usually smaller or unused to having to defend against physical violence, HAS no defense. Would he/she be allowed to have an opinion? Or would you dismiss them as not on topic? If you can ignore the deaths of over a million babies per year that way, what is the point of having a discussion with you?

The second amendment gives the honest person some hope. Some chance to protect himself and his family against the mob, or against the system, should it come to that. And the Democrats, by their support of the deadly a******n campaign, have no right at all to protest against the 2nd amendment. You deny the voices of the pro life; I deny you.

Stalemate.

I do know, by polls, the majority of the NRA members are for stricter gun-control: http://www.politifact.com/ohio/statements/2018/feb/27/tim-ryan/after-parkland-shooting-ohio-congressman-said-70-8/

There were actually two m*****as. One was the organized m*****a that received regular training and were the first responders in times of a crisis. It was made up of able bodied men generally under the age of 45. The other m*****a was the unorganized m*****a where every abled body man was to be available to defend life and property in times of a crisis. Both were needed as a standing army was not always available in certain areas. Many live today in places where there is no standing army available or law enforcement is two few in number or unable to respond quickly. To believe that the founding fathers would expect citizens to be unarmed under these conditions is to be totally unaware of their view of citizens' rights. As far as the type of weapons, as the muzzle loader went out of style and weapons advanced the citizens would be expected to be as armed as their attackers. James Madison would not expect a citizen to defend himself with a knife in a gunfight or to have to use a muzzle loader against a repeating rifle.

Following your logic, should the m*****a have nuclear weapons, or maybe just aircraft carriers, tanks, fighter jets, special forces teams, armed drones, NSA and other intelligence surveillance? Just to name a few.

Their opinion on murder, bank robbery, kidnapping, assault or any other crime would be no controls. Hey, laws don't stop criminals so why make them or even try to enforce them?

The Second Amendment does not, in any way, shape or form give gun rights to every citizen who wants a gun. That is abundantly clear in the wording of it.

I disagree with a******n and it is an entirely different discussion.

Change the Constitution, and gather up a Supreme Court that agrees with you then. Otherwise, shut up!

I do not have to change anything, and the SCOTUS has been wrong numerous times, such as Dred Scott and A******n. The Second Amendment is crystal clear and not to your liking. Sorry. You rewrite an amendment that favors your position and thus rescind the 2nd Amendment.

Well, ok. You're right, everyone else is wrong, so we'll just shut up, and let you rule us.

vernon, I think that Colbert tells it like it is. Sure he makes fun of Trump, he should. I have not caught Colbert in a lie, but Trump has been caught in over two thousand major lies since assuming the presidency.
