So? Why would he do otherwise?

Lol, too funny: that is the question. Why not initiate sanctions against Russia Congress has put into law?

The sanctions are irrelevant. A fig leaf in this case because Putin was busily setting the stage for a pipeline and port on the Med compliments of Obama's pullout. Not only that, terrorist groups and rogue nations are increasingly using cyber currencies and smuggling to get around sanctions and Putin is making military moves now.

Why not pay attention to what's happening on the ground in Syria?

You don't seem to understand the predicament Putin has found himself in the last couple of weeks.

Sanctions can be brought back at any time. Did it ever occur to you Trump might want them for leverage later?

Has it occurred to you the temporary lifting of them might be a carrot and our military operations on the ground might be a stick?

Trump has the Saudis and Egyptians doing the same thing to Abbas right now . This is typical Trump style, I think.

I also think you're being a bit presumptuous and "purposely misunderstanding" (quoting the Living Bible) the situation by focusing on a narrow part of a much larger tangle.

The point is this and this only: Trump refuses to follow the law of Congress in implementing those sanctions: why?
