On the same day that an estimated 1,000 students marched in protest to the scene of last week’s horrific massacre of seventeen people by a deranged gunman in what has all the makings of a public relations stunt orchestrated by anti-gun groups, the Florida legislature showed that they still have a spine and rejected an unconstitutional ban on assault rifles.

The gun grabbers may have lost this battle but they now have plenty of ammo stockpiled for tomorrow night’s reprehensible CNN town hall where the traumatized survivors of the slaughter at Broward County’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School will be ghoulishly exploited by media types to promote an anti-Second amendment agenda.

I used to believe that there was no depth to which CNN and the activist media wouldn’t sink but they continue to surprise even a cynic like myself.

Via The Hill “Florida lawmakers reject motion to consider bill that would ban assault rifles”:

Florida lawmakers have reportedly rejected an attempt to consider a bill that would ban assault rifles, less than a week after the shooting at a Parkland, Fla., high school.

The Florida House on Tuesday v**ed 36-71 against a motion to consider a bill to ban assault rifles and large capacity magazines, according to The Associated Press.

The v**e, which effectively k**ls the bill for the legislative session ending on March 9, comes amid a major push for gun control reform in the wake of the Florida shooting.

Lawmakers, gun control advocates and student survivors of the Parkland shooting in recent days have urged Congress and the administration to implement tougher gun measures.

Seventeen people were k**led and others injured in the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School last week. The suspected shooter, Nikolas Cruz, allegedly used an AR-15 assault rifle that he had purchased legally.

Students from the school were present in the gallery and looked on as the House v**ed against considering the bill, according to Local10 News.

The bill was assigned to three committees but was not scheduled for a hearing, according to the AP. Because of Tuesday’s v**e not to remove the bill from committee and let it be considered by the full House, the bill is essentially dead for this session, since the committees will not meet again before March 9.

Other than Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals” the guiding principle of the political left is the Rahm Emanuel maxim of never let a good crisis “go to waste” and Dems have been already admitted that the ultimate goal is to flip Florida and its jackpot of e*******l v**es onto the scoreboard column for Team Jackass.

Remember Hurricane Maria and Puerto Rico?

That “crisis” is old news now so what better to replace it than the Parkland slaughter?

These are evil people who should never again be able to gain control of the levers of power because as they continue to make clear, there is nothing that is beyond the pale.

Those who have not already done so but want to protect their constitutionally guaranteed right to be able to defend themselves against criminal scum and a tyrannical government might want to consider joining the NRA.
