I love your sense of humor. It is almost as warped as mine. I am also an independent, choosing to decide for myself after wading through all the BS. For the most part I cannot see a lot of reason to like either main party agenda much, but both have a point or two worth considering if you can get through the rest of it.

For what I read liberals have never really grown up and conservatives have been there-done that. Liberals blame the other side for their mistakes and will not own up. All presidents have lied but we have never had anyone whom has lied so often and has effected so many people with their lies.

Well, you know I'm NOT a conservative. I came across this site quite accidentally and decided to give it a whirl. From what others have said, I gather this is a "gentler" site than most. All I was looking for was a window somewhere to look into to see ANY side so I might figure out what makes others tick. I should not have been surprised by the vitriol I see here, but I was. It is disappointing, however.

In total fairness, I have to agree with you. Just about ALL I found when I started here was vitriol, perpetrated by "all" sides. It is "rare" that I let anger get the better of me, because I know it accomplishes nothing. Of course, I cannot deny that I have been known to have slipped of late. Something, I am trying to take great pains now to not have happen again, because anger usually "only" closes minds.

Thanks for all the posts so far. I have no problem with other posters political beliefs. I don't care for disrespect of others for what they believe. I started out hopeing to just have friendly conversation and right away got sucked into conflict. I went for it at first and was bad bad. I am trying ral hard to be decent now even to those who berate me.

You know, I think there are quite a few that think the same way you do. I know I do. Anger and insults just don't get us anywhere but further apart.

I was told this is a conservative site. I am wondering how true it is. If you have been called a libtard a q***r a baby k**ler post here. Trolls not tolerated. There is no start up conversation just start posting

I've lost track of all the nasty names tossed my way, from all sides on a variety of topics. My fiscally conservative views, coupled with a hands off social policy approach really annoys the heck out of some. Doesn't bother me at all. I find it pretty funny.

Ahh, those rumors about liberals being part of the Clan of Lost Boys (and girls) out in Never, Never Land, highly over dramatized. Yes, all Presidents lie, yes, Obama has told some really blatant lies that even I had to look at and go "really? really, dude?" and I had the good grace to laugh. At the risk of perhaps sounding like I am insulting Bush, don't you think that the "lie" about chemical weapons of mass destruction might kinda have been a big one? I believed the lie originally myself. Yes, I really can accept the lies of all presidents, regardless of affiliation, I can  -- until red f**gs jump out at me -- and then I don't. Just so you know.

Nope I don't as we know Saddam had and used these types of weapons twice for sure. Now I have to ask, how many times did Saddam thumb his nose at the world before something was to be done? How many USS Cole's were to be bombed before any steps were to be taken?

I can't deny your logic of Saddam having had the character of something lower than meadow muffins. That's all I'll say on that topic.

I welcome you to this forum and hope to read rational
discussion from you in regard to your political stance.
Because you seem a reasonably intelligent and tolerant
liberal, I would like to know how you can continue to
support the Obama administration. Here a few items about
which I believe a liberal would be repelled.

In 2009, with control of the WH and both Houses, the new
adm. had a great opportunity to make meaningful and thoughtful reforms to our three unsustainable entitlements:
SS, Medicaid and Medicare. Instead through lies and bribing, and with no real discussion with the opposition
party, a brand new entitlement program was initiated, Obamacaare, apparently also unsustainable, and apparently not popular with the majority of the populace.

The unemployment rate has changed little in the five
years of this adm. and would be higher if many had not
left the working force in lack of hope.

Federal spending has increased considerably more than
under any previous administration.

Division by race and class are more apparent under this
administration than since before the civil war.

There are plenty more items, but I would be pleased if
you could give me any reasonable explanation of why you
would continue to support the present administration.
