The people on the Right claim they are the only true patriots and Americans, everyone else is working for Satan, Soros (the same thing?), Lenin, Genghis Khan, Oprah, or wh**ever evil they perceive but not Americans. To be a true citizen and American, you must wholeheartedly agree with them. Do not even question anything they say...or you are an enemy of the state. What state? Strict fealty to Trump and his policies and his ugliness. First Amendment is dead with Republicans. Sad!

What is "sad" about the left is that the indoctrination of Marxist presuppositions have replaced American ones, e.g., "individual justice" has been replaced by the lie of "social justice." Self-evident t***h demands that there be "individual justice." Without it there will never be "social justice. Another example is the lie of "government jobs." The government steals jobs from the private sector. Wh**ever appears to be a "job" is nothing more than what a private sector manager does, and will do it better because he/she is "under the gun" to do it because of the possibility of getting fired. For every government job "created there is the requirement of more taxes from the private sector. The World War II generation knew that the "Great Depression" was cause by the elitist who continue to control our politics and our money: the Federal Reserve, a private bank with only a few share holders. These "owners" love socialism because it keeps everybody fighting one another so they can't learn how they are being "s**mmed."

Rumitoid, except for the "fealty to Trump" you could be describing the liberal left. And if you substituted "worship/fealty to Obama & Hillary" it would perfect. The point is both groups, liberals & conservatives, have their fringe lunatics. So, one should be careful when talking about a group of millions instead of a few hundred.

Let me start with your first absurdity: "by anybody's measure doing a great job." Not be mine and I am certain you could easily find many more voices saying Trump is not doing a "great job." The country is moving forward to two things: disgrace and nationalism under Trump.

I never lay claim to the word of patriot but to its principles: respect, dedication, and defense of its principles. It is not a name tag by party affiliation.
