Thank God we are saved at last. I was really worried there for awhile but I can rest easier tonight knowing that they are going to repeal all of those nasty laws of physics and help our auto industry.

I see no byline, no dateline or name of publication in which this was allegedly published. For all we know, this could be the Onion or some other satirical publication.

Another phony source? Gotta assume until I see at least the name of the publication and a dateline.

This is pretty funny and Professor Cole explained how it actually happened under the previous administration at a congressional hearing and was "2nd Law of Thermodynamics" instead of the "law of physics".

Anyway, it is funny nonetheless. It does make it less embarrassing on the republican congressmen to reinvent the story using Obama task force as the joke punch line target. That guy probably thought people would never forget him suggesting that Cole and his peers pass a new 2nd law of thermodynamics.

Thanks for the joke...it was funny remembering the actual real story.

Yeah, I have Brother-in-law who is a top notch design engineer, that I wouldn't trust to change a light bulb. He thinks that because he has a degree, that means he is an expert at EVERYTHING, and after 25 years, he still doesn't know any better. Some people just get educated all the way into insanity and we keep hiring them to solve problems. That makes US i***ts.

Both Scopes and FactCheck.org say this is FALSE.

David E. Cole, chairman of the Center for Automotive Research in Ann Arbor, Mich., did not tell the story that this latest false e-mail message attributes to him. We contacted him to ask if the story is true, and got this response:

"David E. Cole: I have not met with the Obama task force. The reference to "laws of physics" applies to a conversation I had with several congressmen a number of years ago where they suggested we pass a new 2nd law of thermodynamics."

It is still funny as it shows either the ignorance or arrogance of our elected officials in Washington. After seeing some of the quotes on another thread I am prone to believe that it is the ignorance of said officials from which they spew great words of stupidity while trying to make themselves appear smart.

Oh, my! Please don't get any more education as it just might make an i***t of you. You're doing well as is. You don't want to chance becoming insane.
