The simple fact is, the President has got to stop making threats of nuclear war towards North Korea or any country. Both Republicans and Democrats agree that this behavior is dangerous and could lead - in the worst case scenario - to a nuclear war.

The fact of the matter is that no one person should have the power to start a nuclear war.

That’s why I’ve joined Senator Edward J. Markey and Rep. Ted Lieu in introducing legislation (H.R.669) to stop President Trump – or any future president – from launching a first strike nuclear attack without a Congressional declaration of war, as the Constitution requires.

Importantly, this legislation does NOT stop the President from responding if the U.S. is attacked first. This bill only requires Congressional approval to launch a first attack.

Bottom line, the lives of billions of innocent people, and the future of the world as we know it, depends on our ability to prevent nuclear war. President Trump must stop making nuclear threats and instead turn to the path of diplomacy to de-escalate and resolve these conflicts.

Yeah, maybe he should draw a "red line in the sand" and then cower to it as fast as he made the threat just like Obama. So far, Trump has used strong but smart diplomacy toward NK. And I wouldn't want to see anyone in there but Trump and Mattis doing the negotiating. Hillary would already have us in the midst of WWIII.

That was just a little tongue in cheek rhetoric that guys like you can't handle. At least he's not a full blown COWARD like the pos we had for 8 years. Obama spells WEAK. And he proved it on a regular daily basis. Kim is getting the message that if he screws with us, he is going to REGRET IT....and he's right. Trump has handled iy perfectly except for maybe thinking China was going to step and offer a huge amount of help. Kevyn you can't fathom the idea that almost everything Trump has done in the last year has been beneficial to this country. If not so, name some specific examples. Unfortunately, you can't do it. Also, tell where he's gone wrong with dealing with KJU. Once again, can't do it.

You do understand that Obama accomplished what he wanted with that red line in the sand?.. Syria complied with the demands, Russia also came into the war at that time..

I would think that if Lady Hillary had been elected, the 25 or so rocket tests and the bomb test may not have taken place.

NK looked at the fact we elected an i***t and went with the aggressive role they wished for.. Only because of who was in office..

The orange man undercuts his own state department.

Ridicules the SK and NK started talks on the phone.. that has not been done sense 2014 or so..

But that was Obama and his doing, so the orange fool can do nothing but ridicule it.. That is all he has no conception of how the world work at the international level..

Lord help us all..

You Trump naysayers are always critical to the max, but can't come up with any positive solutions...or anyone who can.. All you guys on the Left, make WEAK threats that you can't back up (line in the sand, Syria). As Giles put it, the pussification of America. https://www.amazon.com/Pussification-America-1-Executive/dp/1481143115

Only in the eyes of the right wing, who seem to think the tactic of name calling from the days of being 8th graders is the height of diplomacy..

Watching photo shopped photos and reciting BS from the inter net must give you a head ache now and then..

The tax robbery? Are you kidding me? Mkt going through the roof. Companies passing on savings to their employees. Less pathetic business destroying regs which did nothing but STIFLE business growth. Sluggish at best economy for 8 years. High unemployment. At the lowest level after 17 years. America is back stronger than ever. And the list goes on.

He's not making threats of nuclear war. He's pointing out that should N Korea launch a nuke, it would be the very end of N Korea. Big difference. I guess you don't see launching missiles and flying them over Japan as a threat, right????
