While speaking on the floor of the House of Representatives Wednesday, Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, the Texas Democrat once dubbed the "Congressional boss from Hell," claimed the Constitution is 400 years old.

“Maybe I should offer a good thanks to the distinguished members of the majority, the Republicans, my chairman and others, for giving us an opportunity to have a deliberative constitutional discussion that reinforces the sanctity of this nation and how well it is that we have lasted some 400 years, operating under a constitution that clearly defines what is constitutional and what is not,” she said.

Lee was only off by 173 years, since the Constitution was adopted in September 1787, not 1614.

A post at the Washington Free Beacon said that going by Jackson Lee's version of history, the document would have been signed seven years after Jamestown became America’s first permanent English settlement.

Twitchy said it's not surprising to hear such a statement from Jackson Lee, who "can be consistently counted on to say ridiculous things."

Twitter users wasted no time ridiculing the Texas Democrat.

"I wasn't surprised that Sheila Jackson Lee thinks the constitution is over 400 yrs old. I was surprised she knew we had a constitution," one person said.

"Is it r****t to point out that Sheila Jackson-Lee is not qualified to hold elected office?" another person asked.

"Now imagine if Sarah Palin had said the Constitution is 400 years old," added Twitter user "Matthew."

Another person asked who was more dumb -- Jackson Lee or the people who keep re-electing her to office.

"Having once lived in her district, I can confidently say 'yes,'" one person said in response.

One person said the Constitution only "looks" 400 years old "from all the recent trampling" it has received.

Jackson Lee, who was once recommended by the Congressional Black Caucus to head up the Department of Homeland Security, recently said the "number one agenda" of the newly-formed Congressional Full Employment Caucus would be to draft executive orders for President Obama to sign.

She also said Americans should simply turn in their guns and declared that insurance cancellations brought about by Obamacare are lies.

Jackson Lee also speculated that George Zimmerman broke his own nose, and claimed Christian "militants" might "bring down the country."

Video of her comments can be seen above.

Sheila has either imitators or mentors, (can't say which?), throughout the Democratic party:
1.- Frederica Wilson of Florida, can almost put a sentence together, however she really shines because she wears really expensive outfits of different colors each completed with a matching cowboy hat. I think that her clothing bills would probably rival in value, the entire budget of Florida!
2.- Barbara Boxer, Senator from California, doesn't get it when other Senators and witnesses are making light of her!
3.- Dianne Feinstein, Senator from California, can't understand why anyone would want to own a gun, asked a Three Star General to address her as Senator, rather than Ma'am.
4.- Maxine Waters from California, berated some oil executives saying that "we should soc, soc, social, take over your companies and run them!"
5.- Nancy Pelosi from California, has been eating her words since 2010, "we have to pass this bill so that we can read it", referring to the ACA. Actually she was not talking to the rank and file, she was talking to the rest of the Congressional Democrats because all of them knew that they were going to lose the majority in the house and after that, the ACA would NEVER pass into Law.
6.- Barack Obama thinks there are 57 States in the U.S.
(He just looks like a girl)

Terry, actually it was Boxer that berated the General for calling her Ma'am, not Feinstein. Just for clarification, not argumentative.

9. "I refuse to play the game of 'assault weapon.' That's any weapon. It's a hammer. It's the machetes in Rwanda that k**led 800,000 people, an article that came out this week, the massive number that are k**led with hammers."

— Rep. Louis Gohmert (R-Texas), on the Dennis Miller Show, arguing that banning assault weapons won't work.

When Lee was on a field trip (fact finding mission) at Jet Propulsion Labs she asked the director if the Mars Pathfinder had taken a picture of the f**g planted there in 1969 by Neil Armstrong.

Hey, she keeps being elected. Somebody thinks she's smart.

When you look at her face, especially around her mouth, she bears a keen resemblance to the ape on your avatar. Her mouth also resembles the cartoon character known as vavoom. From the Felix the cat cartoons.

You gotta admit there is a resemblance. But your ape IS a fine specimen of it's species.

The Republican quotes are, for the most part, true. There are a few who just used bad wording. The democratic quotes mentioned beforehand, however, are just plain dumb.
