Hopefully your dog is like Lobo, he loves raw fruits and veggies. If you give your dog apples, make sure you remove core and all seeds. And no canned green beans.

My dogs always get vegetables. One of my golden retrievers used to sneak into my garden and help herself to wh**ever she wanted. She loved a nice ripe tomato.

My puppy will eat anything, but especially anything he belives is people food, so this will be a cinch. Its the Christmas ornaments, hat pom poms and hair ties I need to watch out for. And dryer lint, socks shoes, cardboard....birchbark, hairbrushes, laundry baskets. The house is his smorgasbord, while we sleep.

Many dogs, including ours, love broccoli, raw. Cut in very small pieces it makes a wonderful training reward without getting the dog fat. However, with all vegies can cause loose stools so watch the amount they get.

That is why they make dog cages. Most dogs end up liking their cages (we call them crates) particularly the open wire variety. Feed in the crate, leave water in a h*****g dish and a blanket or just a mat, depending on the dog. Midwest makes great crates. Google them for information on crates and tips on getting the dog used to his crate and liking it.

He's a hundred pound Newfoundland puppy, sleeps by my side, nine months old. Not going to stick him in a cage now. Newfs dont buy the whole master/serf thing, but consider themselves partners. The key is getting them to want your approval, otherwise they have their own plans. Leif is coming along, still suffers from some selective obediance (how will this benefit me?) But otherwise is a joy.

My hybrids prefer meat and they eat what they k**l.

They've never gone to my wife's garden to dig up carrots or munch on tomatoes.

But they have made a meal of many critters that have attempted to do so.

In the past, I have found that it makes dog farts smell terrible.

Give him sprouts, then you'll know how bad a dog fart can smell up the place. They will, literally, eat just about anything if you convince them that you eat it.

To the doghouse, Fido!

We had an Australian Shepard and he loved those pear tomatoes, red and yellow, I planted outside our yard, along the fence. He would just stick his muzzle through the chain link and have a few at a time. but he h**ed peas and when in his food he would remove them while licking the dish clean.

Ah, peas:

Peas, peas are good for your heart.
The more you eat, the more you fart.
The more you fart, the better you feel,
So eat more peas in every meal!

They're even good with:

I eat my peas with honey, I've done it all my life.
It doesn't make 'em taste good, but it keeps 'em on my knife!
