Progressive forces are among us

The intense social civil war currently on display in America has its origins in the attack on Judeo-Christian philosophy by secular-progressive forces.

Years ago, I wrote a book called “Culture Warrior” where I laid out the coming conflict. Sadly, the book turned out to be prophetic.

The United States was conceived by the patriots in 1776 Philadelphia as a country that would be governed according to a moral law that was acceptable to its population: that all men are created equal and have rights given to them by a benevolent God.

Since the Founding Fathers were primarily Christian, the philosophy espoused by Jesus of Nazareth became the guiding principle of law.

Thus, the birthday of Jesus, Christmas, became a time of generous celebration.

Today, the concept of Judeo-Christian belief is under intense assault in the USA and other countries. Because b****s were denied human rights in the original Constitution, the men who forged it are now being labeled “w***e s*********ts” by some radicals. The concept of right and wrong that was generally accepted for generations in America is being challenged.

In order for that challenge to gain traction, the progressive forces have to diminish American tradition and downgrade Judeo-Christian thought as a guiding light.

Therefore, we see things like the federal courts allowing Washington, D.C. to ban a subway ad by the Catholic Archdiocese which simply promotes its website - there is no religious message in the advertisement.

At the same time, the courts allowed another subway ad paid for by atheists that blatantly encouraged people not to believe in God at Christmas or any other time.

Most Americans are Christian but the number is shrinking. Christmas remains a federal holiday and a time of joy for the majority of us. It is a magical season, especially for children, and therefore is holding fast against the forces that would diminish it.

But those forces have the sympathy of the media and a growing army of zealots. In twenty years, Christmas will be different in America unless the traditional movement gets motivated to oppose unbridled secularism.

In the meantime, I wish you the best of the Christmas season. And I thank you for supporting this traditional website. We need all the help you can give us.
