Actually, you are mistaken. The Senate can block an individual who has been impeached, although it has never happened.
The Constitution does not contain any text to suggest that a felon can not run for President or any other elected office. The only requirements for presidency of the U.S.: Being a natural born citizen of the U.S.Being at least 35 years of age.Being a permanent resident of the U.S.

Do you not remember James Traficant? He was a convicted felon and ran for President in 1989 and he is not the only one who has run, although we have never had a felon elected, even if k**lay had won, she was never convicted or at least not yet.
