This is why it frustrates me to some degree that anti-DACA people don't consider how most of the immigrants affected are being kicked into a land they really don't know anything about, or how these lands will treat them when they get there. Say we kick a Mexican immigrant who came here 30 years ago as a wrapped up baby, back to Mexico... To a Mexican, he'll be an American immigrant.

Why can't we just stop being such assholes and give them a gosh-darn path to citizenship in the country they grew up in and went to work in?

I was lucky that my immigration was pre-1965 red-carpet treatment for white European engineers, so my path was pretty well-secured. Maybe I was lucky just being in that class of people where emigration was a fun brochure option. My parents did it for adventure. I can guarantee you they would not have even considered the move if it meant going through the crap that "lesser humans" had to go through before 1965. Those where different channels. The kind only desperate people, with no other choice would ever take, such as a refugee.

My family is not as deep in peril as I imagine at least 80% of America is. Which is one reason it was easy enough for us not to think about Trump for day.
Of course, we're able to recognize the impact Trump is having and they do affect us directly in some minor ways. My daughter has some student loans for instance... But the reason for our repulsion toward Trump (when we do think about him) is more about what he represents and how that rings with people like you. I oppose the white nationalism that I see in every confrontation, in pretty much everything Trump does. He reverses Obama's policies, because he's the new president, so he can. It's about as hard as declaring which cards are wild when you deal a new game... AND of course... because it's confrontational. So, it doesn't matter what the policy is really about... all that matters is that the guy with the apparent lean on white nationalism is pissing off the bleeding heart liberals and THAT invigorates his base. Classic f*****m.

I guess since I don't work for the government, I just don't see the big deal about the president's position on the matter. It literally has no impact on me whatsoever... He may as well be talking about his favorite denture glue. I'm only reacting to the reactions of people who try to downplay it, while still making it an issue, by saying "I'm just glad Trump made his position of it known." It's just funny, that's all.
