Has Trump just admitted the GOP’s tax cuts were deceptively sold?

President Trump was so excited about passing his 1st major piece of legislation, Wednesday, that he blurted out that the GOPTP had misrepresented the entire bill, handing Democrats some potentially troublesome talking points for the 2018 midterm e******ns.

Speaking at the White House just before the House prepared to sign off on the tax-cuts bill one last time, Trumpet reveled extensively in his win before turning things over to V.P. Pence, to continually heap praise upon him for a few minutes more. It was a thoroughly unique spectacle, even as victory dances and Trump Cabinet meetings go.

But, along the way, Trumpet basically admitted that the GOP's talking points on the bill weren't exactly honest in 2 major ways. While talking about the corporate tax rate being cut from 35 percent to 21 percent, Trumpet said, “That's probably the biggest factor in our plan.”

The problem? Republicans have been selling this legislation as a middle-class tax cut, first and foremost. A sampling:

* “The entire purpose of this is to lower middle class taxes.” — House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.)
* “Primarily, and priority number one, is middle-class Americans.” — White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders
* “The theme behind this bill is to get middle-class tax relief for most people in the middle class.” — Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Fox News on Tuesday

And, polls show Republicans have bought into this, with around 6 in 10 believing the bill favored the middle class over the wealthy — despite the biggest portions of the cuts going to the wealthy and the corporate cuts being permanent (unlike the personal tax cuts). Is it possible they think corporate tax cuts will spur the economy and eventually benefit the middle class first? Sure. But wary of it looking like a giveaway to the wealthy and to corporations, Republicans have avoided even this kind of “trickle-down” argument. They've been arguing that the middle-class tax cuts are what this bill was all about, and Trumpet just said that's not actually the main feature.

Trumpet's 2nd admission was about the Affordable Care Act's individual mandate being repealed in the bill. Apparently, eager to argue that this constituted his having cut taxes AND slain Obamacare in one fell swoop (after Congress came up short on Obamacare this year), he argued that repealing the individual mandate was basically the same as repealing Obamacare. BUT, he said, he told Republicans not to talk about that. Trumpet said he told allies to, "... be quiet with the f**e news media because I don't want them talking too much about it."

“Now that it's approved, I can say that,” Trumpet continued. So, now Democrats have clips of the president talking about how this was really more about the corporate tax cuts all along and saying he just undid Obamacare — both of which weren't part of the argument the GOPTPers always presented when arguing for the bill. They also happen to be pretty good talking points, with the latter being something Democrats can credibly use to force Republicans into ownership of wh**ever happens with the American health-care system from now on.

So stupid of Trumpet to say. Obamacare is still the law of the land, but now Democrats have a sound bite to use against the GOP for a system they still h**e. Stupid, so, so stupid. Trump's desire to claim dual victories and strategic dominance appear to have gotten the better of him ... again.

Jealous of Trumpet?! Shirley, you jest!

I do wish you’d learn to stay “on point” and not try to deflect with a bunch of unrelated gibberish. And why do you always want to associate those who don’t agree with you politically with being “... domestic jihadists?” “Freedom of speech” allows each of us to express ourselves as we want. But, if all you want to do is throw around insults without offering anything of substance, you’re just wasting yours and everyone else’s time.

In my OP, I offered facts and figures. All you replied with were empty insults from an equally empty mind. Want proof? Have your head scanned with a CT scanner. Look at the scan. That big, empty space between your ears should tell you all you need to know. I don’t need to see the scan. Your posts tell me all I need to know regarding how empty your head is.

Vernon, do you always respond to posts without reading them? I’ve provided you with a factual account of what our “Fearless Fosdick” said to a bunch of reporters before the House v**ed on the final version of the GOPTP’s “tax cut for the wealthy and corporations.” Unless you were there, in person, I seriously doubt you have anything of validity and/or t***h with which to contradict my OP.

If you wish to continue with this, please respond with something that is based in facts and not in some made-up BS from your propaganda machine. Or, tell your Russians handlers that you need newer lies with which to attack the “t***h-tellers” with. The ones you currently use expired long ago. Besides, if you don’t believe me, I couldn’t care less.

Right! About as alive as your typical soulless, mindless, GOPTP zombie is. Once Trumpet’s impeached and “de-throned,” your “empowerment” will be about as alive as an ancient Egyptian mummy. So, keep on believing what he tells you. I’m sure that he’ll reward you very handsomely for all your wasted time and efforts supporting the worst president American President to date.

Worst president, Obama, is already out of office. It is not an impeachable offence to be better than Obama.

I would guess that most progressive l*****t's tune in to Rachel Maddow... I've heard it's like a religious edict to let her into the domestic jihadist's mind.. I watch her too, so that I know why the progs parrot what they mindlessly say....but the queen of disinformation is worried that our President...the honorable Donald J Trump isn't going away...or even be impeached...so what I would suggest to the hard line l*****t's..."you don't always get what you want, but you can try sometimes, you just might get what you need"... Mueller is going to fade away.."ba bye" ..

Obama was infinitely better qualified, infinitely better at running the country, infinitely better at keeping us out of another war, infinitely better at turning around a failing economy, infinitely more classy, and has infinitely better morals.

Trumpet, on the other hand, has stocked his cabinet with the same Wall Street people he was highly critical of during the campaign; has been caught in 1,628 blatant and outrageous lies as of Nov. 17, 2017(The number is going up every day. We just haven’t had the new total for December tallied yet.); is enriching his own companies at government expense by charging his vacation stays to his own properties to the government and charging outrageous rents to the government for spaces in his office buildings; openly praises the leader of a country that has, as its main goal, the destruction of the USA; has openly bragged and admitted to sexually molesting young women; divorced 3 times, 2 of which he married the women he was having affairs with, yet still married to other women; has bankrupted 4 times, taking hundreds of small business owners to the cleaners while he walks away with their hard work; has rewritten the book for promoting nepotism within government by hiring members of his own family; is trying to appoint totally unqualified people into federal judgeships; has reneged on many of his campaign promises; and the list goes on and on and on.

Oh yes! Trumpet IS the better man, as long as you’re counting “losers.”

Do you think you’ll be ever come to the point that you can actually think for yourself, instead of simply writing old comments that contain ZERO facts and lack total credibility? I want people who can actually argue their points using provable facts; not people who can’t even think for themselves. Thus far, you’ve not presented the first iota of verifiable data. Only your own personal opinion.

I want people with brains and know how to use them. If all you want to do is repeat old, used, empty generalizations, then, please, GET THE HELL OFF MY THREAD!
