Do you recall the propaganda that the last administration put out on how poor are America's poor? According to that administration, the gap was narrowing and America's poor, when compared to the rest of the word, would be considered at minimum middle class. Now that the administration has changed, the American poor is back in the headlines.
Some things that people are forgetting... From the time obama took office, median household income in the US has not just stagnated, but has fallen by more than $1,000 in inflation-adjusted dollars through 2014 (most recent year available). And while the official jobless rate has fallen in the last year of that administration, that was largely because so many Americans left the labor force, which brought the labor force participation rate down to a near-40-year low in recent months. In reality, the jobless rate stayed at about 10 percent throughout obama's term.
In the most recent 2016 Index of Economic Freedom, the U.S. ranked No. 11.... a drop from 2008 (the end of Bush administration) America Index of Economic Freedom, the U.S. ranked sixth in the world on economic freedom with an index score of 80.7, ranking it in the category of economically “Free” countries (exceeding an index score of 80.0).
Mercatus Center at George Mason University estimated that obama's increase of over 144 new regulation created a considerable d**g on the U.S. economy, amounting to an annual reduction in U.S. real GDP of 0.8 percent. This accumulated regulatory burden negatively impacted U.S. GDP by $4 trillion in 2012 – about a quarter of the nation’s economy – and a loss in real income of approximately $13,000 for every American.
Now for some good news... our economy is growing under President Trump, The U.S. economy expanded at a 3 percent annualized rate between July and September 2017. Yes, it is true, President Trump wants to force people off of welfare to include food stamps, which as we know grew to almost 1 out of every 2 people were on during obama's administration. "SNAP was created to provide people with the help they need to feed themselves and their families, but it was not intended to be a permanent lifestyle," said Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue. "We want to provide the nutrition people need, but we also want to help them t***sition from government programs, back to work and into lives of independence."
My opinion.... yes, let us all send thank you notes to our President.... he is doing what he was hired to do!
