Can We Have A Little Honesty On The Tax Bill?

The die hard Trump GOP supporters think this is the greatest thing since sliced bread while the anti-Trump liberals tell us we are being fed moldy, crusty croutons. The reality is that neither side will know what the affects will be for some time. The bill will become law so why not just wait, have a little honesty, and when the true impact becomes known make a comment based facts and not speculation and bias.

Finally, someone speaks with a little unbiased common sense, thank you. I hope you know you may have just asked for the impossible, but, you are right on. My initial thoughts are that it will bring a booming economy, although I could be wrong, but historically, tax cuts are a great accelerater for the economy. I believe the corporate tax cuts will do more for the economy overall than the individual tax cuts because, hopefully it will be a magnet for bringing good jobs back to the USA. Time will tell, but, I’m trusting the President on this one until he is proven wrong.

I would like to know what the trump supporters that are on ss think about the chained cpi that was tacked on to this bill,as reagan changed the formula when he was president and there have been less and less cost of living increases since then. Now with the chained cpi probably never be an increase,so why do republicans want this, seems they dont want to talk about it could it be it will tick off 41 million or more seniors?

The t***h of the matter, Tree, is that we are already seeing the effects of the tax bill. Have you looked at the Dow today? The talk of lowering taxes is causing a surge. Why? Because investors know what that means. Of course the envious Dems who v**ed "zero" for the bill, think that it's a "zero sum game". It isn't. The pie will grow as it did in the 80's and 60's. If the Dems could quit obsessing over a few people getting richer than others and realize that they themselves will benefit, then they will see that. Go to YouTube and put in Milton Friedman on taxes and you will see the other angle explained, one that you will never see explained in the MSM.

Seems the demo's don't want folks to keep more of their hard earned money to spend on their families .

This could very well backfire on the demo's in the next e******ns !

We're already seeing less folks on food stamps and as more jobs open up there will be even fewer on food stamps.

I’m 61 and the only democrat I can remember in my lifetime that wanted the American people to keep more of their money was JFK. All the rest of the democrats have given me the impression that they believe they know how to spend my money better than I do. My wife and I have owned a small business in Florida for 26 years, and for the last year of the GW Bush presidency and the entirety of the Obama years, we never had an increase larger than 2.7% and two years we lost money from the year before. In 2017 we had an increase of just under 11%. 10.8% to be exact so far this year. We are part of a franchise, and the entire franchise system is having a banner year, the best it’s had in over a decade. Customers are spending more on big ticket items, and have more confidence in the economy in general. There are good things happening, even though CNN & MSNBC, the New York Times and Washington Post would love to have you believe the sky is falling, I’m seeing just the opposite, and so are a lot of other people. I wasn’t the wildest about President Trump at first, but, he is winning me over because, I am a results oriented person and I am definitely seeing results in my business as are other business owners I am talking to. I’ve always been a republican, now, I’m a Trump republican. I think he is truly going to make America GREAT again.

I'm 72 and I am a life long Republican and I too wasn't a Trump fan and he wasn't my pick, however what he was saying resonated with me and now from all that he has had to fight with in congress as well as with all the liberals and RINO's I am well pleased with him.

I'm glad to hear that your franchise ids doing well and I think we will see a great turn around as the years go by.

It gets wearisome, doesn't it? I'm afraid you're way off base asking for 'honesty' from the most divided people this republic has ever known. Wait and see? Not a chance. Every single eye movement will be highlighted and condemned before it is even finished. It's pathetic to watch and even painful to endure but there it is. There is no reasoning. There is no 'civil discourse'. There is only raw, naked animosity and aggression, and it keeps getting worse. I find myself wishing they'd just hurry up and k**l each other so we can get back to normal, wh**ever that is...

So true, and your right, it is pathetic to watch, not to mention scary. The scariest part to me is George Soros sent out a lot of r****rs and thugs by the bus loads and had the thumbs up from his elected democratic pals, like Hillary and Bernie.

Yeah, wait and see...

WASHINGTON—In the wake of the $1.5 trillion tax bill’s historic passage in both the House and the Senate, GOP leaders reportedly celebrated Wednesday their decisive win over everyday American citizens. “This is a monumental victory not only for us, but for everyone struggling under the reign of the average American,” said Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell, adding that party leaders made a promise to “take a stand against ordinary U.S. citizens,” before cracking open a bottle of champagne and proudly declaring that “today, we delivered.” “Of course, the fight against the people of this country is not yet over. We won this battle, but the war is still to come. However, if we carry on with the same vigor demonstrated today in our widely opposed tax overhaul, I know that we will prevail over Americans time and time again.” GOP leaders also expressed confidence that they would achieve another dominant victory over the American people as they push to close the deficit by cutting food stamp programs, Social Security, and Medicare.

Yes, relax...there is plenty of time to figure out how much you have been screwed by this piece of s**t give away to the rich and big corporations, as nothing will really impact your taxes until you file your 2018 taxes in 2019. Also plenty of time to figure out the claim of all those outsourced overseas jobs, newly created jobs and wage increases for the proletariat will not materialize. So, yes, relax, there is plenty of time to listen to the lies and propaganda extolling the benefits that will not be bestowed on the bottom 60%.

The middle and working class did not need a phony "tax cut", they

The middle and working class did not need a phony "tax cut", they need more income.

Aaaaactually, that wasn't Soros - for a change. It was Barry. Turns out he was 'organizing' the whole time he was President and now commands some 30,000 'operatives' who do his bidding both in and out of the halls of government. This is how the 'deep state' operates...

Thank You, Liberty.. Agree wholeheartedly.. it’s something I too have been saying by asking what in this bill supports the contentions claimed... No reply which has to lead me to the fact they are only repeating what the media puts out..

I’m reading the bill right now and there is nothing easy to follow in it!!

Anyway just wanted to say we should all do as you suggest!!!
