They had record snows in Dutch Harbor the first winter I was there but the next few winters were pretty mild. Didn't know there were places getting hammered but Alaska's pretty big. They have regional, marine and air weather forecasts.

Yeah, I get tired of being called a “denier” like it was some kind of a religion and I was being called a heretic. Come to think of it, that’s not a bad comparison and is probably more accurate than I wish it was. When they said it was g****l w*****g and we were all gonna die unless we gave them all our money and power, then they said it was global c*****e c****e and it was getting colder because it was getting warmer, then they said the ice caps were going to be gone by 2011 and now they are bigger then ever, then there was the “hiatus” for 20 years when there was no change at all that they don’t want to talk about, and no one can tell me why they know for sure that the temperature that we have right now is optimal and why wouldn’t it be better if there was more co2, and now with the extra co2 they are noticing that the deserts are greening up and plants are growing faster but that must be bad because if it was good then the chicken littles might be wrong and we can’t have that at any cost, and in the 70s we were taught that we were heading to an ice age and we needed to melt the glaciers or we were all gonna die, so I guess I am quietly skeptical that they have the foggiest idea what’s going on and that perhaps getting more control over our lives might have been the goal in the first place
