I’ve been told numerous times that I h**e Obama because he is black. That is not the case at all. Here is a black man that I would v**e for in a New York minute that has something that most, if not all, politicians are sorely lacking in…common sense.

Read this article in its entirety and truly understand what this man is saying before jumping to conclusions. This is the type of person, black or white, that we need leading our country.

Ben Carson has never held elective office. The only non-politicians elected to the presidency, in U.S. history, were generals in winning wars. I've mentioned this before; if people want to see Dr. Carson as president they would first have to do the necessary groundwork of getting him elected governor or U.S. senator from his home state, Maryland.

Good luck with that.

Obama was elected president without doing anything as an elected official.

He said without doing anything. Just because he was elected to the Senate doesn't mean he knows what he is doing. Name one thing he accomplished as a Senator???? You can try that so called state job he had too. Just getting in office doesn't mean he is worth anything.

Let’s see, that last time you brought this up that I’m aware of you stated, “Can you name any U.S. president that was not a U.S. senator, governor, vice-president, or a general in a winning war?”, to which I replied, “…one of our greatest presidents Abraham Lincoln and President James Madison both served terms in the House of Representatives but never were US presidents that served as a senator, governor, vice-president, or general in a winning war.” It’s funny how you reword it now.

And so what if Ben Carson has never held elective office? The last time I read the Constitution, the only requirements for holding the office of president are being a natural born citizen, having attained the age of thirty-five years old, and having been a resident within the United States fourteen Years. Didn’t see where there is a requirement to having held elective office

Maybe we need someone far-removed from the political arena with a "fresh set of eyes." I would definitely support him if he made it to president.

Apparently you can't read. He said, "as an elected official."

Yeah, I guess JFK didn't have the right qualifications too.

Who said anything about r****m? I was just reciting the political facts of life for those who fantasize about a non-politician Carson presidency. You really need to visit the eye doctor.

My bad.

Maybe I should have clarified my original remark by adding, "in modern times", from 1900-onward.

R****d666, what did this senator do that was so special? I actually hoped that he would be better than GW (who I never liked). So far Obama has been worse. In your opinion being a brilliant brain surgeon is trivial
