What !!!! Cranes I'll look it up before I flip the philemon, yep it's a large wading bird with a stretched neck, alarm trigger ignited, incendiaries loaded, jingle bells jingle bells.
I believe in Monist development but Dualism as change when and where the confluence becomes due to a reverse flow, that sounds made up rubbish, but years of thought have gone into that presumption, to explain it properly I need you near me.
I was equating "the three exalted cranes" mentioned in the so-called Satanic verses with the three Fates of Greek mythology.
At any rate, the Noble Prophet Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) was gently chiding (as St. Paul was at times wont to do to the Gentiles) the pre-Islamic Arabs for their childish belief that "cranes" could intercede for them. Later, people, probably Christians, referred to these verses as "Satanic" to discredit Him.
The Noble Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) had done that type of chiding before; for instance in the verses where He says something to the effect that "You [Arabs] have sons, yet you would believe that God (Allah) has daughters?" How difficult it is for a people to give up their polytheistic beliefs.
