If the president of the US gets a 8 year max term, it should be the same for congress persons. Get out and v**e for a new law for congress.

And reduce the Senate term to 2 years. 6 years is way too long for any politician to be able do wh**ever he wants without being accountable.

But if politicians can't keep getting re-elected time after time after time, so they spend 20 years in DC, they can't protect us from career politicians.

I think it would take a new amendment, not just a law. It's not that I am against the change, just that it is harder then it sounds. Congress sure wouldn't go along with this. They put a limit on the President because he had gotten to powerful and they didn't like that. Since putting that limit on the President, Congress has gone down the tubs to be nothing more then a rubber stamp for the President. Obama has gotten away with much more then FDR ever thought of and he was the cause of the amendment.

or greed and corruption...the longer they are in office the more greedy and corrupt they get..

Your suggestion is a good one, but as another poster said, we should make every elected official's tenure no longer than 2 years, and retirement income should be eliminated. Pay them for the time they are there, then quit paying them altogether. They aren't worth much in office and are worth absolutely NOTHING out of office. They don't need retirement as they get wealthy on the speech circuit after office, and we cannot afford to pay it.
The degree of corruption that they can amass over a 20-30 year tenure is unspeakable and unforgivable. We need to cut 'em off at the pass!

What a great idea a revolving door of congress members who do the bidding of the corporate entity's that buy them the office and then hire them after 8 years as overpaid lobbyists to push the new corporate agenda on their replacements. This ought to work out well for working family's. The solution is to get the money out of our e******ns.

All Americans should band to gather and start a movement to v**e them out of office. Please spread the word to others. We as the people must do something to stop the members of congress from getting filthy rich on the backs of American Citizens. The congressional officials are corrupt and they think we are stupid. We need to act now by advertising this message on all social net works. Please inform others to do like wise.
