What kitchen tools have you found to be obsolete or useless after you bought them?

Ugh… too many to count… but here is a short list. Maybe not obsolete, but not as useful as advertised or though before purchasing:
1 Air Fryer - Don’t kid yourself, nothing cooks like grease/oil…. LOTS of IT!
2 Pasta Machine: Unless you are cranking out pasta every day of the week (or at least once a month) roll it out and cut it with a knife
3 Indoor Rotisserie Oven - Who cooks enough meat that you need one of these things? And they smoke like crazy!
4 Hot Plates / Warming trays - Rent them.. you’ll use them once a year at most and they take up a lot of space
5 Deli Slicer - Again, a nifty idea, but WAY too much maintenance (and the distinct possibility of loosing a finger!)
6 Electric Quesadilla Maker - Just plain dumb. One function and it doesn’t even do that well.
7 Margarita Maker - I’ll take a good blender ANY DAY
8 ANYTHING by George Forman - Indoor Grill, Outdoor Grill, anything with that name is junk.
9 And finally, as Alton Brown used to say, ANY UNI-TASKER that isn’t a fire extinguisher, should be banned from the kitchen. If it only does one thing (even if it does it well), do you really need it? One Task Appliances!

Food processor. It's 10 times more work to clean than a knife and a cutting board.

I use my air fryer almost daily and I love it. Same for my pasta maker. But, I make almost everything from scratch. The one tool I have that has proven itself almost useless (because of the effort to clean it) is my potato ricer. The holes are almost impossible to clean.

For the most part I agree those things are useless, except the deli slicer. When we make goat cheese we make at least 20 pounds of it (neighbors have the goats and we make it together. After it is cured, the deli slicer comes in handy. Before making it if someone said "It is cured" I would have wondered what it was sick with and whether it was ever going to be safe to eat. One of our other neighbors makes a type of pastrami out of venison and it needs a deli slicer to cut it thin enough to be able to chew the stuff. Man, am I glad I still have all my teeth, or I would never make it. On second thought, since I really don't like the stuff it might be just the excuse I need to say "No thanks"
Oldsailor, I agree with you, except for the George Forman grill. I think its pretty good and easy to clean. Another question should be, which is really good. I like my vacuum food packer. I'm a fisherman and I vacuum pack a hell of a lot of fish. It still taste like it just jumped into the boat, months after the catch. I also like crinkle french fry cutters. I haven't seen one for sale in many years.

I have a wavy blade Thai Knife. The blade is about two inches high and cuts wh**ever with those crinkles you are talking about. Just choose your width and slice away. Of course, it is a uni-tasker but I use it on al lot of different veggies and fruits for fancy effects. It gets rinsed and wiped or dumped into the dishwasher.
The most useless purchase was a GE over the stove oven which had a Microwave, Convection Heating and Searing Lamps in one unit so it could microwave, bake, roast or broil all in one convenient smaller oven. None of them worked worth a fiddlers dam. Jack of all trades and master of none -- 800 bucks down the tube. The fan in the bottom pulls moisture through the electronic controls so that if you boil something in a tall pot on the stove it shorts out. The controls then do not work at all and you have to disconnect the power to shut it off. It may or may not recover after three or four days. If not, it has to have a service call and replacement of the whole control unit. It happens about twice a year. Quite expensive and it more than offsets the insurance I had to buy to cover repairs.
I have no use for the "DishWasher", I live in an apt. bldg. for Senior Citizens and they all include a dishwasher. I use mine as storage for kitchen utensils. I do all my own cooking "from scratch" and I wash dishes as I am cooking so I don't end up with a bunch of dirty dishes.
I once managed an apartment building and a young couple came to look at an apartment.
I had a feeling she would be a problem, just a gut feeling you know.
When she said "this apartment doesn't even have a dishwasher", I replied "that's your job"
Luckily they didn't rent from me.
My biggest grip is finding a decent hand operated can opener... a large P-38 is best I've ever found.
If you asked my ex, she would say just about everything you'd find in a kitchen (:-)

That depends on how much food you have to process. I use mine a lot; and it's not hard to clean. You should try a VitaMix. (I also have a Cuisinart.)
As a former executive chef and restaurant manager I have amassed an incredible collection of kitchen gadgets, most of which I don't even use anymore since I retired. My v**e for most useless goes to my large immersion blender. I have a smaller one that I use a lot. I haven't used the big one since I retired.

Guess you guys never fell for the spiralizer. Very messy and not good for much besides zucchini, not a popular veggie here. I do like the texture of homemade pasta, but , I have to be really bored to set myself up for that mess. Salad spinner, takes up a lot of space, when a collander and a good shake work just as well.

You can do some neat garnishes with them.

Good old George started out as a celebrity shill for the grill. He recognized a good thing (finacially) and bought the company.
