Where is the "good guy with a gun"?

Gun laws. Do we doubt that the Sutherland Springs shooter would have gotten a gun without that state's failure to deny him one? (Where is the investigation into that massive fail? Enforce the meager controls we have and maybe less people will die.) Or would he? Had the controls in place thwarted his insane efforts to purchase a firearm might he have...who knows? The "good guy with a gun" there did not prevent the murder of 26 people or k**l the suspect. And that is true in almost every state that has lenient gun laws. There is decidedly more--let me repeat that--more gun violence in states with lenient gun laws than strict gun laws.

Out of the strictest gun law states
#10 - Delaware
#9 - Rhode Island
#8 - Illinois
#7 - Hawaii
#6 - Massachusetts
#5 - New York
#4 - Maryland
#3 - New Jersey
#2 - Connecticut
#1 - California
None--NONE!--of them made into the top ten or even twenty states with the most gun violence. T***h hurts.
https://www.deseretnews.com/top/3427/0/The-10-states-with-the-most-restrictive-gun-laws.html

Here are the ten worst states for gun violence:
10. Tennessee
> 2013 firearm death rate: 15.4 per 100,000
8. Oklahoma
> 2013 firearm death rate: 16.5 per 100,000
7. Wyoming
> 2013 firearm death rate: 16.5 per 100,000
6. Arkansas
> 2013 firearm death rate: 16.7 per 100,000
5. Montana
> 2013 firearm death rate: 16.8 per 100,000
6. 4. Alabama
> 2013 firearm death rate: 17.5 per 100,000
3. Mississippi
> 2013 firearm death rate: 17.7 per 100,000
2. Louisiana
> 2013 firearm death rate: 19.1 per 100,000
1. Alaska
> 2013 firearm death rate: 19.6 per 100,000
http://247wallst.com/special-report/2015/06/10/10-states-with-the-most-gun-violence/4/

States with most lenient Gun Laws:
10 Wisconsin
9 Idaho
8 Kentucky
7 Louisiana
6 Montana
5 North Dakota
4 Oklahoma
3 Arizona
2 Alaska
1 Utah

Even the worst attempt at controlling guns with our Hodge-podge of state laws in this country is more effective than lax control. The evidence is clear. Newtown, Las Vegas, Sutherland Springs: how can you in good conscience want innocents to pay this so-called price for liberty? O'Reilly's statement on the horror of Las Vegas, "the price of liberty," has to be the most insensitive and damning comments on gun control. Hoorah for freedom, my wife and three children are dead, as at Sutherland Springs? A Liberty tax? How freaking cold-blooded and stupid can you get?

Egads you are dense. He did not shot the SOB, dimwit; the gunman at Sutherlands Spring committed suicide. Stop listening to Alt-Right blogs and Fox News. Did those two guys save lives? Possibly. But that is not the point. A gun law was not enforced. In the states where they are, fewer are hurt by gun violence: that is the point! Those against gun control are complicit in all these murders.

Um...he did get shot and he did commit suicide.

Chill. Alaska, with the most lenient gun laws, has the most gun violence. Illinois is not even in the top 20 of most gun-violent states. But eight of the most lenient Gun Law states are.

No, the shooter had run out of bullets and was leaving when the "good guy" arrived and shot him. The good guy had nothing to do with stopping more carnage...

You're both right. The shooter was shot as he was exiting the Church and when he stopped after being pursued he shot himself. You both get a prize...

The Dukes dead and that's a six shooter he's holding--which would have been all the gun necessary to take the shooter out...

Liberals are incensed that people k**l themselves with guns... but staunchly support a******n. Apparently it's fine to abort those who have no choice but terrible to choose to abort yourself.

Liberals support euthanasia and physician assisted suicide... but doing it without a medical bill is not tolerable.

Liberals support recreational drug use even knowing its debilitating effects on the brain... but doing it quickly with a bullet is somehow just wrong.

It would be much easier to take Liberals seriously if they weren't such damned hypocrites.

Actualy Detroit has a violent crime rate double Chicago’s and Michigan is an open carry and shal issue concealed weapon state. Also remember if the assault weapon ban was in place he couldn’t have purchased his AR-15 or the 15 30 round mags he used in the slaughter.

Huh? I do support medically assisted suicide, I support the legalization of Marijuana but no other drugs, I support a woman's right to control her body, and if you want to k**l yourself with a gun I will even support that.

Now you think that's hypocritical because I think we should ban semi-automatic weapons because of the carnage they leave behind? Well, don't you think it equally hypocritical to be against a******n but in favor of the semi-auto irregardless of the carnage it leaves behind?

I'm pro-choice. Automatic weapons are already illegal and I know of no instance where a gun k**led anyone without a person to pull the trigger. It's the mind behind the trigger finger that's the problem... not the gun.

Should I have to surrender my car because some nut job decided to run down innocent strangers?
