The GOP took a big defeat in yesterdays e******ns in New Jersey, and Virginia. It is obvious to me that the cause was Donald Trump. After a year in office, he is one of the most unpopular presidents in modern times. People are getting tired of hid constant aggrandizement of himself, his lack of ability to get along with his party leaders in congress, his failure to get his agenda passed, his lies and character assignations, and lots more. I believe that the Republican party must ditch him and rebuild itself. What do you believe the Republican party can do to make itself competitive in the next e******ns?

salt, you may want to worry about your own party.....saw some pretty low approval ratings from CNN for the entire Democratic party, barely above Trumps approval rating......I believe you need to ditch your party leaders, other than raising money...they are good for nothing in terms of moving forward.

just saying.

I would like to see Trump establish a new political party so he doesn't have to run as a Republican.

You are entirely wrong, Trump is not one of the most unpopular presidents in modern history, he is hands down the most unpopular president ever.

New Jersey is a Democrat state so there us no surprise there. The Democrat candidate in Virginia successfully tied the GOP candidate to Trump through the TV ads. Remember, Trump lost Virginia in the general e******n. Trump never has had wide range support. He has his Trump Davidian cult members who will support him no matter what and some die hard Republicans who will support anyone with the GOP banner. The majority of his support in the general e******n was an anti-Hillary v**e. The anti-Hillary v**e is turning against him as is some GOP v**ers because they see him d**gging the party down. The two things that will help the most immediately would be for Trump to stop his self-serving tweets (which he will not do) and for Congress to enact legislation that will benefit the middle class in the form of tax cuts and making health care more affordable.

hands down.....right after obammy that is, the most unqualified, destructive president we ever had.......another liberal failed experiment in a long list of many, you will never see another black AA president in your ( hopefully) short lifetime ........a complete and dismal failure of epic proportions is what obammy will be known for.

have a lovely day.

I agree. Relying on the other guy to lose is not a winning strategy.

I also think you guys have more vested in the Clintons than we do. That's why you can't let her go....

I assure you, we v**ed in Trump to make her go away....45 yrs of that wretch is more than enough....same with the Bush dynasty......gotta go man!!!

Nah that isn't even remotely true. There was no AA president, only a president. And your boy Trump is doing everything he can do to make Obama look good.

I just visited the 'new topics' page and boy are there a lot of Clinton posts. Just can't get enough of her, you can't. Here's your problem: if you didn't have the Clintons to kick around you'd be stuck trying to defend Trump. And that's just a mountain to high to climb.

If winning states that went to Clinton is a big victory to you, by all means, bask in the glory.

Well, we do agree on one thing: the dynasties should disappear. I v**ed for Bernie because I'm tired of Clintons. I find the national level of both parties corrupt beyond redemption. I suspect most of my fellow liberals would agree. Trump also needs the Clintons apparently because he can't let go of her either.

I feel like I'm in a holding pattern above a political airport, waiting for wreckage to be cleared so I can land.

Personally, I think her illegal server was a source of wonderful insight for foreign bad actors and I'll be glad to forget all about her after she is truly investigated.

I'm wondering if Washington truly believed the whitewash would work or they were running interference on the inevitable.

The Clintons have been investigated for decades now. You've either got nothing or they are too clever to catch. Or some combination.
Didn't I just recently read that some members of the current cabinet also were using private servers for public business? It's a practice that seems common, even if a bad idea and/or illegal. If you put Clinton in jail you're going to have to investigate some of these other folks and put them in jail too. Fair is fair.
