Hello MtnMamma....

Nice to meet you and Welcome..
You hit on the fundamental challenges in acceptance or rejection of turning an American pastime sport into a political statement.. It is my opinion it should have not been done.. Look at the division now involved in it all.. We need unification having lived eight years of attack, destabilizing r****m, bringing fear of authority and promoting h**e...

We should be better than all that, but like sheep lead, we were lead down the Primrose path of dissension instead..

I do not know if kneeling during the National Anthem is showing respect nor have I been told this before... I do not question you but will say on the surface I find it disrespectful and without merit..

As you pointed out:The sacredness with which most Americans, I believe, hold our f**g and anthem as protected symbols of Liberty has to be recognized....

I feel some of these kneelers lack the true base of their protest stance not knowing why, but rather jumping on the bandwagon.. Is it to protest against the police, or the B*M or h**e itself, or just doing it to be in step with the others..

They may have started out with this intent but shortly saw how so many do not support them seeing it as an attack on our soldiers serving or whom gave the ultimate.. It did not sway them it changed nothing .. In that decision they do in fact slap the fallen and those now serving and that is where I, too, draw the line..

Entitled to their first amendment rights I am also entitled to it.. A classical example of how it has separated us even more.. The cause runs deep, our Soldiers worth it..

I really like your suggestions of alternatives and only wish there was a way to see it happen... Pethaps a letter to the NFL suggesting such.. Had another poster that thought bringing our soldiers in to stand for the Anthem with all to see their miissing leg, or one arm unable to cross over their heart may show these players just exactly who they dishonor..

I hope you will consider offering your excellent suggests to the NFL....
Once again Welcome, so nice to have you here..

It was a peaceful nonviolent demonstration against injustice that never seems to get better in this country and in fact has only grown worse in recent years. Peaceful nonviolent civil disobedience is preferable to violence. It is the slow way to bring about change but works in the long run as demonstrated by Mahatma Gandhi, MLK, and Cesar Chavez.

“Of course the people don’t want war. But after all, it’s the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it’s always a simple matter to d**g the people along whether it’s a democracy, a f*****t dictatorship, or a parliament, or a c*******t dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger.”

When did I get time for varsity sports, you ask? Oh yeah, that's right never a game of anything at anytime during school years 1939-1951. Also in 1951, I was invited to leave home after graduation (age 16 and 7 months) and have earned every penny spent and paid for everything I have used, consumed, driven including my first bicycle, a beautiful Schwinn Panther two tone green with white walls for 'only' $72.34. Also enlisted in the Navy that year and spent the next 14 involved in that both regular and reserve. Retired from an electrical utility in 1994 after 32 years.
Do you think the millennials have a soft spot in my thought process? How about the punks that don't know why they are attending school or the older punks kneeling on the sideline during the Anthem?
You could guess I don't do movies or TV, and now, not even football.
Oh well, I don't suppose I'll live long enough to see Islam take over our country.

You sound like a cranky old fart. One thing that can be said about Collin Kapernick is he drew attention to a problem that needs to be fixed and that was his only purpose for sitting then taking a knee. I try and put my self In the place of the man stopped by police for driving while being black, then shot to death for looking scary, or wrestled to the ground and choked to death by two three policemen only to see the perpetrators go free and unpunished.

I feel sorry for our military service personnel, risking their lives, fighting to make the world safe for capitalism. We have been fighting some one for the last 74 years and since the end of WW-ll been responsible for between 6 to 20 million people in 137 third world countries. Not one service person has been k**led on American soil protecting our so called freedoms since 1814 Over 30,000 Boys were k**led or wounded no counting PTSD for nothing in Iraq

Ah, the media double standard. When an NFL player kneels in protest, it’s considered “unifying,” according to MSNBC. When Tim Tebow kneels in prayer, NBC calls it “polarizing.”

While the NFL outrage poured in on all fronts over the weekend, resulting in mass protests among football players that were heavily encouraged by both the media and liberal celebrities, it’s interesting to note that about six years ago, these same outlets bashed quarterback Tim Tebow for kneeling on the field in prayer.

In 2015, NBC’s Matt Lauer called Tebow “one of the most popular and polarizing quarterbacks in NFL history.” But that’s just some of the nicer things the media has aimed at Tebow for daring to flaunt his Christianity on a public platform.

In 2012, the always classy Chelsea Handler said that if she dated Tebow, it would be “reverse rape.” CBSChicago.com called Tebow “little more than an affable simpleton” earlier that same year. And when the New York Jets hired Tebow, Nation sports editor Dave Zirin accused them of “moving backwards 30 or 40 years” because L**T fans didn’t like Tebow.

There wasn’t even a real controversy perpetrated by Tebow. He didn’t commit a crime or protest. CBS Sports columnist Gregg Doyel said in 2011 that if “Tebow had more class he’d just k**l dogs or get drunk and run over somebody and maybe end their life.” The stream of unjustified h**e was unending.

It still is. The Washington Post’s Michael Frost described the split between Tebow and Kaepernick as representative of the split in Christianity. He said, “It feels as though the church is separating into two versions, one that values personal piety, gentleness, respect for cultural mores, and an emphasis on moral issues like a******n and homosexuality, and another that values social justice, community development, racial reconciliation, and political activism.”

And while Frost pointed out that people have labeled Kaepernick a t*****r, he ignored the media’s h**eful outrage pointed at Tebow. When the pro-life ad featuring Tebow aired at the Superbowl in 2010, the media was angered and showed it.

While the ad showcased Tebow’s mom as a woman who did not have an a******n, even though she was advised to for health reasons, pro-choice celebrities found something to attack. The View co-host Joy Behar said that even though Tebow turned out a success, “he could just as easily become some kind of rapist p*******e …There are others who decide to [commit a******n], and they’re glad that they did it.”

The media will praise Kaepernick because liberal public activism is always encouraged as a part of the media’s agenda. But simply act the part of a pious Christian, then you will be deemed “polarizing” and “simple.”

I'm well aware of the casualties in the war between the states I have studied that war extensively in my study of American history. A for WW-ll The Soviet Union won WW-ll over ran Germany and Poland They beat us there but we supplied them with artillery tanks ammunition and even their fighter planes were built by Bell Aircraft so in that respect Yankee ingenuity was a great help and the fact none of our factories were subject to bombing. Think of it African Americans fought the f*****t valiantly even though they lived under Jim Crow in the south and were segregated in the service until Harry Truman de segregated the military which is to his credit. It is not to our credit that we have allowed the inner city ghettos culture to build up with so mush deprivation in the ghettos and there is no reason to believe that it will ever change its too far gone.

Sorry, still trying to figure this social media thing out. It's hard, because I can see you grew up with a hoe, shovel or pitch fork in your hands instead of a Game Boy same as I. My point was that it is people like ourselves that have given this next generation the chance to regain the America that we had. Yes, it has hard. But it was security, knowing that Family came first and neighbors and church were there when you needed them.

PLT Sarge: Conservatives have not forgotten, but our First Amendment apparently does not include the ability to vocalize it without being harshly criticized or penalized. And our Second Amendment is losing its ability to allow us to defend ourselves. Degradation of our military has seriously threatened our ability to defend our nation. Our People's refusal to control our borders is drastically diluting the conservative population's ability to maintain our national and cultural identity. We are running out of time, and sanity.

I am truly disappointed that my Ignore list doesn't keep the comments from certain people from my view.

En, Thank You, kindly...

All entitled to our First Amendment Rights sometimes we should consider how it ultimately speaks... D******e display has to be tolerated but we need not approve of it..

The people spoke loud and clear on this field..
A message of unity and Thanks.. Something desperately needed in today’s world.

I bet you have Mike.. perhaps the good in this is in the fact for you and all who served to see not all wish to dishonor our soldiers as is being done..

They may have started out a protest of one issue and then turned it into what it has become.. Realizing the sentiment of the people they then chose their continued course.. So be it..

Our freedom runs deep. Across the Oceans when necessary..

Our men went when called, some giving the ultimate whether or not it was justified is moot and not the issue!!
