Breitbart (h/t Emma) He was sentenced to 20 years after raping and sexually assaulting three girls as young as 8-years old. But appeal judges slashed the term to 18 years after hearing that he was struggling with life behind bars. (Isn't that the purpose of being in prison?)
According to The Sun, his barrister Judith Benson said: “His isolation because of his deafness within the prison is increased in comparison to an ordinary prisoner.

“He is unable to watch TV or partake in any other media of that sort. His life essentially consists of a period of time in workshops where he is able to have minimal communication.
“Save for that, he has no means of communication or passing time.” According to the Express, Ms. Benson added: “Each day in prison is going to be so much more burdensome and difficult” and argued the rapist had a more boring time in jail because of his disability.
Too bad isn't it. No cares about the children whose lives are forever changed. Remember, the STDs he probably carried and the damage to the girls reproductive systems have a good possibility of leaving them sterile and possible unable to have intercourse. And they are worried that this piece of slime can't watch TV!!!!

There is a serious misunderstanding about the nature and purpose of incarceration. It is first of all retribution for the injury done to the common good, by the criminal and secondly it is punishment for the crime committed. Rehabilitation is a last place consideration. Comfort, association with others, opportunities for self-improvement all have nothing to do with the reason these criminals are incarcerated. As a matter of common sense, to provide such comfort, negates the debt owed to society. When the time in prison becomes a country club existence, then no expiation or atonement occurs.

It is too bad the criminal in this case has handicaps. They didn't hamper his criminal acts, so why are they a burden now? If you can't do the time, don't do the crime. Sexually assaulting children, under the age of ten, should be a capital crime with a mandatory death penalty. There are no recidivists under such a system and a speedy execution saves the taxpayer the burden of supplying the necessities of life to vicious criminals for extended periods of time.

You are probably right, the Brits do not have a lock on insanity. We have plenty of examples of pederasts geing a slap on the wrists, from our judicial system, as well as numerous cases where pederasts are released fom prison far too soon. They go on to repeat their offenses, sometimes adding murder, to make sure of no witness to their behavior.
